Elida Lydia Trujillo

A loving partner, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, ELIDA LYDIA TRUJILLO, 68, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. SERVICES: A Rosary will be recited at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Friday, March 27, 2020, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On April 30, 1951, Elida was born to Raymond and Guadalupe Sosa in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was the beloved partner of Ramiro Sarellano. Elida was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she taught Catechism classes. She also faithfully delivered the Holy Communion to the elderly. Elida’s heart was for service, and her life was dedicated to being the best woman for her partner, family, church, and community. Prior to retirement, Elida worked as a Teacher’s Aide for the Roswell Independent School District. She had previously worked for the Motor Vehicle Department as well. Elida loved her bingo, casino, music, and dancing. She was a woman with many interests and talents that include sewing, reading, writing poetry, baking, needlepoint, and quilting. Elida had a big heart for stray animals, and she would rescue them. Elida’s greatest joy in life was spending time and making memories with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; they were the light of her life. Her presence will be dearly missed by friends, family, and all who were lucky enough to have known Elida. SURVIVORS: Left behind to treasure their memories of Elida are her loving partner, Ramiro Sarellano; children: Donna Meza Amaro and husband Octavio, Jessica McGeorge, Sherry Lesa and husband Siapani; Sandra Torres and husband Robert; grandchildren: Roxana and Jonathan Meza, Mariah and Angelica Peyton, Noah, Lucas, and Kyron McGeorge, Christopher, Joseph, Leilani, and Jacob Trujillo, Nathan and Samantha Torres; great-grandchildren: Paul (PJ), Audriana, Allen, an Aiden Perea; parents, Raymond and Guadalupe Sosa; siblings: Mary Sosa, Robert Sosa and wife Rosa, Raymond Sosa and wife Salli, and Nadine Sosa; sister-in-law, Mary Sosa; nieces and nephews: Eric Sosa, Verna Lathrop, Robert Steven Sosa, Diane Lucero, Jimmy Ramirez Jr., Michelle Sosa, Tommy Sosa, Joseph Hurtado, Kristen Hurtado, and Kiana Hurtado; Godchildren: Joseph Herrera, Tommy Sosa, Kiana Sosa; numerous Tios and Tias; cousins; and many close friends, all whom she loved so much. PRECEDED: Preceding Elida in death are her daughter, Betty Jo Linda Trujillo; grandparents: Espitacion Salmon and wife Calistra; brother, Michael “Mike” Sosa, Nicomedes Sosa and wife Isabell; a special Tia, Manuela Salmon Garcia and husband Andres; Tia, Rufina S.
