Jeffrey L. Anderson

Jeffrey L. Anderson, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Roswell, New Mexico, with his wife and dog Colby by his side. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Jeff’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. On December 29, 1953, Jeff was born to Harold and Eileen Anderson in Aledo, Illinois. He grew up in Solon, Iowa and attended Solon High School, where he graduated. After high school he attended and graduated from the University of Iowa. He later enlisted in the United States Army where he received many awards and retired on January 1,1994, as a Major in the USAR. After the Army he worked for the DOT and retired from there in 2014. Jeff had many hobbies and interests which included playing golf with his buddies from the Highway Dept, watching golf and football games. His favorite sports teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Iowa Hawkeyes. Jeff was a good man who was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A man of few words, great listener, fun guy and loved to dance with his wife to “Give Me That Old Time Rock and Roll”. Jeff will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Jeff are his wife and best friend of 36 years, June Anderson; children: Katherine, Theresa, and Rick; stepsons: Eli and Bryan Leist; grandchildren: Pumpkin, Emily, Clara, Maya, Marshall, Jaedyn, and Aliyah; mother, Eileen Anderson; brothers: Les and Kevin; sister, Chris; and his loyal dog, Colby. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Harold Anderson; and daughter, Melissa. The family of Jeff wishes to extend a sincere thank you to sister-in-law, Patsy, as well as Eli. They also wish to thank great friends of the family Gabriel, Ernie, and Isreal, who were always there when needed. All the wonderful hospice staff, and especially nurse Mandy Ford. You all were such a blessing in this time of need. Jeff’s wishes were to have a Graveside Service with all of his family and friends in attendance. Per his wishes, there will be a Graveside Service at General Douglas L. McBride Veteran’s Cemetery on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11 am. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
