Raymond Lucero

Raymond B “Momis” Lucero passed away at his home on Saturday, March 26, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born May 30, 1938, in Corona, NM to Antonio and Teodorita Lucero. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Connie Lucero; children: Bonnie Miranda and husband, Richard of Texas, Salli Sosa and husband, Raymon of Colorado, Dora Aragon, Ramona Lucero, Marina Casarez and husband, Lee, Irene Martinez and husband, Ernesto, Cindy Salas and husband, Ralph, Raymond Lucero Jr and wife, Rita, Jerry Lucero, Raymond Martinez and wife, Lettie of Texas,; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters: Nellie Vargas, Mary Silva and husband, Albert, Lucy Nunez and husband, Antonio, Lupe Bencomo and husband, Oscar, Elizabeth Lucero; brother, Richard Lucero and partner; brother-in-law, Ignacio Quintero; sister-in-law, Carol Lucero; and dear friend, Frankie Nunez. He is preceded in death by his parents: Antonio and Teodorita Lucero; son, Anthony Ray Lucero; brothers: Larry “Waterdog” Lucero and Manuel “Jiggs” Lucero; sisters: Teresa Chacon and Orlidia “Bebe” Quintero; grandchildren: MaiRai Lucero, A-va Marie Lucero, Antoinette Ray Martinez; great-grandchild, David Allen III; sister-in-law, Cunie Lucero; brothers-in-law: Chon Chacon and Roy Vargas Sr; nephews: Roy Vargas Jr, Jose Quintero and Alfred Montoya. Raymond, whom his grandchildren called Pampo, retired from the State Highway Department after 28 years. He enjoyed telling stories, scratching his lotto tickets, being outside doing his yard and spending time with family, friends and his dogs. He was big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel, 6:00 PM. Deacon Ernesto Martinez will officiate.
