OBITUARY FOR RENE H. ANAYA Rene H. Anaya, age 76, of Roswell was called home to be with our Lord. He passed away peacefully in his home on November 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 7, 1940, to Gabriel and Marcela “Chela” Anaya in Ojinauga, Mexico. He was raised in Artesia, NM since the age of 6 years old. He married Socorro Analla and they were married for 25 years. Together they had 5 children: Ramon, Carmen, Juan Rene Jr, Rachael, and Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel Anaya and Marcela Anaya; his son, Ramon Anaya; his daughters: Rebecca and Graciela Anaya; his brother, Vincent “Chente” Anaya; his sisters: Eloisa “Litcha” Hernandez, Tillie Ortiz; and his grand-son, Angel Horton. He is survived by his brothers & sisters: Raymond Anaya and Gabriel Anaya, Ramona Barragan, Guadalupe Anaya, Jesus Anaya, and Jose “Jojo” Anaya. He is survived by his daughter Carmen Anaya her partner Phillip Navarrette, his son Juan Rene Jr Anaya his girlfriend Jackie Garcia, Rachael Anaya her fiancé Paul Meza, Grace Anaya Carrillo her husband Steven Carrillo; grandchildren: Alexis Anaya Horton, Gabriel Anaya Horton, Ramon Jr Anaya Horton, Jerry-Paul Martinez, and Jesus Anaya, Jennifer Moreno and Camille Navarrette, Amanda Anaya, Sarah Anaya, Andrew Anaya, Julia Rodriquez & Mercedez Rodriguez, Matthew Anaya, Jasmine Maes and Reyna Maes. Great-grandchildren: Roderick and Alliyah Sedillo, Angel Maes, Nathaniel Morales, Michaela and Nicholas Anaya, Julian and Eli Anaya, Nevaeh, Nadia Rodriguez, Nicole Casias, Daniel Rodriguez and Roland Jr Perez. Rene was a laborer and had many trades in his life. He definitely was a “Jack of All Trades, but a Master of None,” LOL! His greatest legacy is his generous heart. He touched many hearts throughout his time here on earth and will continue to do so. He definitely loved to help people in need and expected nothing in return. He showed his children to love, respect, to be trustworthy and forgiving. He was a very humble man taking in whom ever needed a home and something to eat. He always loved keeping his cars looking nice. His one great talent was playing his guitar and singing, never needing lessons to pick up a tune, whether it was the words that went with the song, but also filling in his own feelings towards that tune. He was truly a character quick to come up with something to make you laugh about. Oh that “Pancho,” how he will be greatly missed. To our little sister, Grace, and brother Rene Jr., our most gracious thanks for always being there by his side and providing the care he needed, especially this past year. We know it was not easy, but you were there with loving care and compassion. Grace was definitely his GUARDIAN ANGEL, when he called out she was there. A very special thanks to Antonia Gandarilla for the wonderful care she provided throughout the years. Also a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice (Anita and Katrina) for their upmost compassionate care they provided to our father and to us, guiding us through this most difficult time. Now as we lay him to rest we know that our GREAT GUARDIAN ANGEL we call DAD will be watching over us all. Arrangements are entrusted to Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory. Viewing will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. A Rosary will follow at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, 10:00 AM at St Peters Catholic Church, immediately followed by burial at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, NM.
