Ruven Baca

On October 26, 1975, Ruven was born to Ruben Baca, Sr. and Rita Lourdes Baca in Chihuahua, Mexico. He attended Goddard High School, where he graduated. Ruven married Gloria on August 26, 2003, in Roswell, NM. He was involved in coaching Little League baseball for the Boys & Girls Club and Youth Basketball at the Yucca Recreation Center. Prior to retirement, Ruven worked as a milk hauler for Ruan for over ten years, and then he went on to work in the oilfield industry for five years. He was currently employed at Mesilla Valley Transportation as a truck driver, which was his last place of employment. Ruven was a kind and caring person who never hesitated to help anyone in any way he could, but above all, he was a loving and dedicated father, son, husband, and brother. He enjoyed spending every possible moment with his daughter, like teaching her how to ride her bike or picking her up and dropping her off at school. Every waking moment was for his daughter. Ruven also enjoyed spending time with his extended family and friends, as it was very important to him that his daughter and family knew and felt how much he loved and adored each and every one of them. Every chance Ruven had, he would take the opportunity to show his daughter how beautiful the world could be. He would tell everyone that he knew his daughter Candace was his beautiful Angel. An Angel sent to him to breathe hope and life back to him after the passing of his son Jorge. Ruven always said, “how I live my life and what I do will reflect on what kind of father, husband, son, and human being I am, so I strive to help anyone I can. Encourage and love my daughter, be a loving and caring husband, and a son who loves and honors his parents. Because what people will remember and talk about is the life you lived and the legacy you left with loved ones. Because life is short, and anything can happen at any time.” Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Ruven are his wife, Gloria Baca; daughter, Candace Baca; parents: Ruben Sr. and Rita Baca; two sisters: Denise Baca and Erik Mendoza; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ruben is preceded in death by his sons: Jorge Arturo Mendoza and Francisco Ruben Baca, and both maternal and paternal grandparents. A Graveside Service will be held at South Park Cemetery on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
