Aaliyah Miranda16 passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2026 in Roswell NM. Services: There will be a public viewing on Thursday March 19, 2026 from noon to 7 pm at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be held Friday March 20, 2026 at St Peter’s with Rosary beginning at 1:30 pm and Mass to immediate follow at 2:00 pm On April 15, 2009 Aaliyah Miranda was born to Rosa Miranda and Manuel Miranda in Roswell, NM. Preceded in death by; cousin Margarita Valdez, cousin Little Joe Alvarez and Aunt Mandy Miranda, paternal great grandparents Celia and George Romero, maternal great grandparents Rosa Lopez, maternal great grandparents Estevan and Augustina Valdez. She is survived by her mother Rosa Miranda, brother Javier Miranda, and father Manuel Miranda. Grandparents: Fernando and Maria Valdez, Manuel and Barbara Miranda. Uncles and Aunts: Fernando (Reina) Valdez, Luis (Athena) Valdez, Jose (Lisa) Valdez, Nelly (Nat) Alvarez, Melissa Miranda, and Monica Little. Cousins: Breanna, Brian, Brielle, Alex, JP, Gio, Meili, Mia Valdez, Aceson Alvarez, Jeremy, Angelina, Christina Sambrano, Mariah Alvarez, Joselyn and Matthew Little and Seriyah Minner. Aaliyah was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was the most beautiful daughter inside and out whose presence filled her family with pride and joy, the best big sister, and was always looking out for those she loved. Aaliyah had the best hair which everyone admired, but even more beautiful was her heart. She was an amazing cousin, a loving friend and everyone’s favorite niece. Her sassy personality, humor and perfectly timed sarcasm could make anyone laugh and her infectious laugh filled every room with warmth. She was passionate about sports and loved being active, proudly playing basketball and tennis. Beyond being extremely athletic she was involved in many school activities, including the yearbook club and welding class. Aaliyah had big dreams for her future, she aspired to attend college in Las Cruces and pursue a military career, hoping one day to serve her country with honor and dedication. Her ambition, strength, and courage reflected the remarkable young women she was becoming. While we grieve her loss here on earth, we find comfort knowing her spirit lives on and her legacy of love, friendship, and strength will remain with us forever. As Scripture reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18) and we take comfort knowing her light and memory will remain with us forever. --- though her life was far too short, the impact she made on those around her will last a lifetime. Honored to serve as her pallbearers will be her brother Javier Miranda and cousins Breanna Valdez, Jeremy Sambrano, Brian Valdez, Meili Valdez, Alex Valdez, JP Valdez and Gio Valdez. Honorary Pallbearers – RHS Girls Basketball team, RHS Yearbook friends, and the RHS Class of 2027. The family would like to thank extended family, friends, and the community of Roswell and beyond for the love, prayers, and support. WE WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL.
