Adalina Herrera

Adalina Santanna-Rose Herrera beloved daughter of Andrez and Brooklynn Aguilar, passed away tragically on October 24th, 2023. She was born on September 30th, 2020, in Roswell, NM. She was three years old. Adalina was a true princess and our pretty girly girl. If you put a dress or new outfit on her, she would show everyone (and we mean EVERYONE) how beautiful she is. But don’t let her fool you, she was the boss of the house. She was super Sassy and in charge. She was the queen of heavy sighs and rolling eyes. But always followed it up with a smile to see if she can make you laugh. She loved watching Disney Movies and YouTube videos; she knew exactly what she was looking for every time she got on her phone (or Yours!). She tolerated hanging out with her family but especially enjoyed chasing her big brother around. Anything that Bubba did, she wanted to be a part of it. When Bubba got a new bike, she needed one too. They rode up and down the driveway and fought over each other’s bikes. Her favorite toy was always the one that Bubba was playing with. That girl was always hungry just like her daddy. She could eat and eat and eat. (“I hun-geee!”) But her favorite food was chips. (“Chippies please!”) Music and dancing and singing at the top of her lungs in the car with her big brother and parents made her so happy. She loved all types of music. Disney songs, Weird Rave Music, Mexican OT, but her absolute favorite was her Spanish music (We all have “Bebe Dame” by Fuerza Regida on repeat in our heads and in our phones on standby). Her smile could light up the universe. You could never be sad after a smile from Nina. If you were lucky enough to know Adalina, you know exactly what we are talking about. In addition to her parents, she is survived by paternal grandparents, Joseph Aguilar and Blacita Herrera, maternal grandparents, Jesse and Adriane Lewis, and Crystal Simmons, (maternal) great-great-grandmother Janice Lee, (paternal) great-grandmother Yolanda Lara, (maternal) great-grandmothers Donna Lee and Mary Davis, (maternal) great-grandfather Richard Lee, aunt Alexandra Lewis, uncles Santiago Aguilar and Zachary Burkhalter. Along with numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins (Especially our Aguilar, Herrera and Lee families) and many, many friends who were family as well. She passed away alongside her Bubba, her ‘Riya and her huge puppy, Daisy. She is preceded in death by her uncles Jo-Nicholas (Nick) Aguilar and Xavyr Jo-Ray Herrera, (paternal) great-grandparents Reyes and Amelia Herrera (maternal) great-grandparents Terry Davis, Rita Gratz and William Treat. And many great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins and friends all who were waiting to welcome her home in the Kingdom of Heaven. A rosary is scheduled for Sunday, November 12th at 6pm at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Christ’s Church, 2200 N. Sycamore Avenue on Tuesday, November 14th at 12:00pm. The family would like to extend their overwhelming gratitude to this amazing Community for their donations, acts of love and their continued prayers, to the Earthly Angel who blessed our family by covering the entire funeral expense, to the paramedics, firefighters, officers (especially the officer on scene who made sure we got to the hospital quickly and safely) and to the ENMMC staff who did everything in their power to try to save our babies. Our eternal thanks to the OMI Staff and to Anderson Bethany Funeral Home for making this process as easy as possible in the worst moments of our lives. Prayers are powerful. Your continued prayers and love are what will see us through the darkest days to come, but with God’s Grace, we will hold our children once again.
