Adan Horton

Adan Horton, 71, passed away at his home on Monday, June 29, 2026, with his daughters by his side in Roswell, New Mexico. A rosary will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 9:30 AM with services to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. The family would like to invite everyone to stop by the Eagles Lodge for food and time together after the interment. Adan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great‑grandfather, brother, and tio whose love for his family shaped every part of his life. His greatest joy was spending time with those he cherished, especially his daughter and constant sidekick, Mechila. Where Adan was, she was—an inseparable pair whose bond brought light to everyone around them. He was a man of simple pleasures and big passions. Adan loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers, taking country cruises, enjoying ice cream, and relaxing with family and friends. He had a lifelong love for motorcycles and lowrider cars, and he could watch Big Foot for hours with a smile on his face. Above all he had a special love for his daughters and son Peanut. His humor, warmth, and protective nature made him beloved by all who knew him. Adan enjoyed traveling and dreamed of seeing the world with his wife by his side. At home, he found joy in cooking for his wife and daughters and watching his favorite shows—Syfy, Discovery Channel, the cooking channel, and football. His presence filled every room with laughter, comfort, and love. Adan will be deeply missed, remembered for his big heart, his loyalty, and the way he made life brighter for everyone fortunate enough to know him. Those left to eternally cherish and treasure Adan’s memory are his only son, Felipe Daniel Garcia whom held a special place in his heart, daughters; June and Mike Rivas, Brandy and Roman Loya, Mechila Salazar, Nichole Salazar, Eva and Phillip Jaramillo, Amber Salazar, Josephina Horton, and April Horton; grandchildren: Christina and Eleazar Sierra, Mercedes Lopez, Desira Daniel Jonathan, Joselyn Garcia, Esmeralda Lopez, Reina Rivas, Leilani Salazar, Eliana Loya, Nicholas Salazar, Angel, Maribel, Noah, Ava and Luca Salazar, Rose, Daisy and Elijah Salazar, Leland, Josiah and Isabel Salazar, Danny Jo, Veronica, and Atalaya Horton; great-grandchildren: Braelyn and Jaziel Sierra, Aniessa, Adaely and Joseph Lopez, Lovelyn and Hunter Myhand; siblings: Sally Chavez, Juanita and Vicente Rubio, Philip and Carmen Navarrette. Adan is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Salazar Horton; grandchildren: Joseph “Joe” Lopez, Jeramiah and Catalina Jaramillo; parents: Filipe and Fernanda Horton: siblings: Cruz H. Dillard, Nancy Garcia, Fernanda “Nana” Garcia, Mary Lou Horton, Frances Horton, Rosa H. Hernandez, Kathryn Horton, Rosito Horton, Augustine Horton, Joseph “Boy” Salazar and numerous nieces and nephews. Those blessed to be chosen as honorary pallbearers are Josiah Salazar, Joseph Lopez, Jaziel Sierra, Isabela Salazar, Braelyn Sierra, and Adaely Lopez. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are JR. Loya, Leeland Salazar, Noah Salazar, Daisy Salazar, Clayton Means and Elijah Salazar.
