Alison R. Barrios

It is with great sadness that the family of ALISON R. BARRIOS, 37, announces her passing on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. SERVICES: There will be a Rosary at Assumption Catholic Church on Monday, December 9, 2019, at 2:00 PM, followed by a Viewing from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Assumption Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On April 4, 1982, Alison was born to James and Debra Calhoun in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She was a high school graduate who served in the US Navy as a GSMFN on the USS Howard. Alison married her true love, Luis A. Barrios, on January 15, 2005, in Castle Rock, Colorado. As a result of their happy union, they had two beautiful children: Luis C. Barrios and Kiara V. Barrios, whom she adored. Alison was a homemaker who loved her family immensely. Alison volunteered for the PTO, as a Secretary at Saint Mary’s, and a Treasurer for Rush Soccer Club. She was a devoted member of Saint Mary’s, Our Lady of Loreto, Sacred Heart, and Assumption Catholic Church. Alison was very involved with Woman of Grace, Marriage Prep, and Arise Bible Study, where she expressed great interest in Apologetics. But her main focus in life was her love and devotion to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and her loved ones. She always listened and liked sharing her stories and experiences. Alison loved talking about God, Sacraments, and her journey to Christ. Reading, cooking, and watching documentaries and sports, were among her favorite pastimes. Her favorite music bands were Diesel Boy, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Aventura and Mana. Alison was extremely family-oriented and loved spending time with her children. Her most memorable moments were seeing their children play soccer and softball. Alison was a fan of the Broncos, Avalanche, and Barcelona F.C. She loved to help others and provide solutions. Her spirit, smile, and presence will be deeply missed, and the memories Alison shared with her family and friends will forever remain in their hearts. SURVIVORS: Those left to eternally treasure beautiful memories of Alison are her husband, Luis A. Barrios; son, Luis C. Barrios; daughter, Kiara V. Barrios; mother, Debra F. Calhoun; sister, Sarah V. Hoggard; father-in-law, Pedro L. Barrios; and mother-in-law, Minerva C. Barrios. And many other friends and family members. PRECEDED: Alison was preceded in death by her father, James C. Calhoun. HONORARY PALLBEARER: Blessed to serve as Honorary Pallbearer is Alison’s father-in-law, Pedro L. Barrios. PALLBEARERS: Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Pedro Barrios, Eduardo Barrios, Javier Hoggard, Felix Serrano, Michael Burke, and Ruben Guerrero. The family wishes to give a special “Thanks” to everyone that came and extended their help as we transferred into Roswell, NM.
