Angela Vegara

Angela “Choo Choo” Vegara, a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 24, 2025, in her home in Roswell, New Mexico. Angela was born on March 13, 1964, in Roswell, New Mexico, the city she called home. She married her husband, Joey Vegara, on March 10, 1984. They were happily married for 41 years, having the great joy of sharing two daughters together. Angela was a hardworking mother who spent her free time crafting, working on DIY projects, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an amazing sense of humor and always knew how to make her family smile. Family members left behind to cherish her memory are Joey Vegara (husband), Jeanette Garza Alvarez (daughter), Rene Alvarez (son-in-law), Ashley Tavarez (daughter), Carlos Tavarez (son-in-law), Jordan Garza (grandson), Clarisse Garza (granddaughter), Alayna Tavarez (granddaughter), Josiah Alvarez (grandson), Adelina Tavarez (granddaughter), Annabelle Tavarez (granddaughter), Viviana Alvarez (granddaughter), and Ayden Tavarez (granddaughter). Angela’s memory will also be treasured by Hector & Silvia Lujan (brother & sister-in-law), Valerie Estrada (sister), Martha Garcia (sister-in-law), Darlene Lujan (sister-in-law), Lydia Vegara (sister-in-law), Willie & Kathy Vegara (brother-in-law & sister-in-law), Marie Vegara (sister-in-law), and Larry Vegara (brother-in-law). Angela will be remembered by her numerous aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, cousins, great-family-members, and friends. Angela was preceded in death by Dolores “Lola” Garcia (great-grandmother who raised her), Serapio Vegara (father-in-law), Erminia Vegara (mother-in-law), Renee Marquez (beloved cousin), Humberto Estrada (brother-in-law), Tony Garcia (brother), Mary Agnes Jimenez (mother), and Tommy Lujan (brother). Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Mikey Brumlow, Ricky Gomez, Johnnie Lujan, Ray Estrada, Ernest Lujan, and Devin Reed. Blessed to be honorary pallbearers are Mari’Kos Lujan, Vic’Torio Lujan, Ce’Fereeno Lujan, Ernasius Lujan, Enrique Lujan, and Dionicio Lujan. Viewing services are scheduled for Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Christ’s Church located at 2200 N. Sycamore Avenue in Roswell, New Mexico. Interment will take place at South Park Cemetery immediately following the funeral services. Family and friends are invited to gather for a meal at Christ’s Church following the burial services.
