Antonio (Tony) Simoes Obituary Antonio Simoes, (Tony), 76, Passed away on April 4, 2023, in Roswell, NM. He was a Christian, who believed in God’s Love. On February 3, 1947, Tony was born to the late Antonio and Rose (Rapoza) Simoes, in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was educated at Plymouth School, before joining the US Army. He served during the Vietnam era, protecting missile sites in Florida. Everglades. Tony was a humble and grateful friend of Bill W. and Dr. Bob. He espoused the principles of the program which changed his Life in so many ways. He worked tirelessly through the years in service to others, like himself, in need of Hope. Because of this Hope, he was able to return to college at the age of 50, to obtain a Bachelor of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico. After several years of working in the field in diverse positions at New Mexico Boys School, Springer, NM as a Hospice Social Worker at the now-closed Roswell Homecare & Hospice, Tony decided to change direction. He owned his own company, Tony’s Handyman Service. A successful business, he continued working until 2012, when health issues caused him to retire for good. He enjoyed the theater. He performed with his friends from Way Off-Broadway and Roswell Community Little Theater. He loved to hear people laugh. Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Jeorganna; his daughters: Alicia Simoes, (New Bedford, MA), and Lindsey Myers, (Fort Dodge, IA); stepson Brian Aguiniga and his wife, Elaine, (Camp Verde, AZ), and stepdaughter, Donna Aguinga and her husband, David Reamer; his granddaughter; Diamond Simoes, (Boston, MA), and grandson; Omarion Myers, (Ft Dodge, IA). Granddaughters: Alessandra Cotta, Viviana Cotta, and Zaylee Brown all of Ft. Dodge, IA, Siblings: brother, John Simoes, and his companion, Rose, (Carver, MA). And several loved step-grandchildren and their families. He was preceded by his son Ashley Simoes, siblings: Florinda Morency, Jose Simoes, and Alcino Simoes, and his parents. ‘But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.
