Betty Lyons, 75, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, in Roswell, New Mexico. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Betty’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. A Memorial Service will be held for Betty on Monday April 29, 2024, 2 pm, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Betty was born on May 24, 1948, to Ray and Nina Flud in Roswell, New Mexico. Betty had a zest for life and found joy in the simple pleasures. She was an avid outdoorswoman, finding solace and excitement in activities like hunting, camping, and fishing. Her love for music and dancing brought vibrancy to every gathering she attended, and she was often the life of the party. Among Betty's greatest joys was spending time with her family. She cherished every moment shared with her beloved husband of 30 years, Ricky Johnson, and took pride in being a devoted mother and grandmother. Whether it was a family gathering or a night at the casino with her granddaughter Tina, Betty's presence brought warmth and laughter to those around her. Betty is survived by the love of her life, Ricky Johnson, with whom she spent 30 wonderful years. She leaves behind her daughters: Linda (husband Henry Perez) of Roswell, and Pamela Wages of Utah; stepdaughters: Amber (husband Richard Chaves) of Roswell, and Shelly Johnson (Steven) of Artesia. Betty's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Tina (Andy Hobbs), Henry Perez Jr., Donnie Lyons Jr, Daniel (Klaryssa) Lyons, Kayla Wages (Richard of Albuquerque), Nicole Wages ( Tony of Utah), Brooklynn (Israel), Maddie, Annie, Jordy, Erik, Ava, Shelby, Mia, Allison, and Michael; great-grandchildren: Laura and Edgar, Alexis and Gavin, Kaylyn, Annabelle, Macie, Rebecca, Junior, Azzy, David, and Brooklynn's baby boy due in May; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as Alexis's baby boy due in August; sister Reba Lewis, of Pennsylvania; nephew, Billy Flud (wife Tami) of Oklahoma; and several other nieces and nephews; Betty's fur babies, Sassy, Hunter, and Dolly, who will miss her dearly. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Lyons; stepdaughter, Melissa Craddock; brother and sister-in-law: James and Beulah Flud of Oklahoma; and her parents: Ray and Nina Flud. Betty's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. Betty’s tribute was lovingly written by her family.
