Beulah Ann Gilmore

Beulah “Tootie” Gilmore passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 30th, 2023. Her husband Wilfred “Will” Gilmore preceded her in death in 2019. They were reunited on the 74th anniversary of their marriage. She also joins her parents Attie J. “AJ” & Mary Alice Owen, her siblings Mary Louise (Owen) Weitzel, Ilo J (Owen) Riddle, and Dorothy P (Owen) Robb, her grandson Blake Keddrell, and her great-grandson Dylan Davis in eternal rest. Those left missing Tootie are her brothers Robert “Skip” Owen, Franklin “Frankie” (Judy) Owen, and her sister Alice “Sis” (Owen) Cooper. Her children Deborah (Dewey) Davis, Barbara “Barbie” Gilmore, Mary (Johnny) Bullock, and David (Pam) Gilmore, along with her 7 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren will cherish their memories with her. Born in Fredonia Pennsylvania, raised in Harrisville PA on a farm where she learned to carry her weight—a skill she mastered throughout her life and passed on to her children. Tootie and Will met as teenagers and eloped on September 30th, 1949. The couple moved to Roswell in 1960, where Tootie raised her family. Tootie continued to live on her homestead in Roswell up until her passing. Tootie had a love and talent for painting. Her paintings adorn the walls of many blessed homes. She was also fond of sewing and passed down her skill and knowledge of the trade to her children and grandchildren. Tootie could also be found searching for treasures at yard sales. When not at home Tootie would ride alongside Will on adventures all over the country. They would routinely RV cross country visiting family along the way. These trips were often accompanied by their children and grandchildren. Their simple, ingenuitive, low-frills approach to travel and life will continue to be a grounding principle for generations. Tootie, Mum, Grammy, Grandma Gilmore was a kind friend, a wise teacher, and a stable mentor. She was an inspiration to many and a blessing to all. Rest in peace, your legacy was painted beautifully by you. A viewing is to be held at Anderson Bethany funeral home on S. Main St in Roswell NM Wednesday October 11th from 4pm - 8pm. Services will be held the following day October 12th at 2pm at Anderson Bethany funeral home.
