Carlos (Charley) R Medina Jr, 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, went to be with our glorious Father in heaven on Thursday, January 5, 2023, in Roswell NM. Carlos is survived by his wife Isabel Q Medina; children: Mary Gustamantes husband Jack, Elias Medina, Lisa Gustamantes husband Felipe, Moses Medina wife Lisa, David Medina, Mack Medina wife Lisa, Maxine Villa husband Esteban, Naomi Perez husband Edward; 16 grandchildren: Rose husband Joseph Cobos, Jack Gustamantes wife Emily, Michael Gustamantes, Monica Medina, Senieda Salazar, Bianca Teasyatwho & Sam, Donica husband Santos Ramirez, Adelina husband Donavan Brewton, Joshua Medina wife Veronica, Eliseo Medina, Sergio Medina, Arseno Sanchez, Carlos Villa, Isaiah, Nathan & Ethan Perez.; 30 great-grandchildren: Justice husband Dario Guevara, Joseph Cobos Jr & Mercedes, Alizia husband Johnny Lopez, Elisa & Santiago Erives, Frankie, Nina, Emmy, & Jack III Gustamantes, Ebony Gustamantes fiancée Quinn, Michael Jr, Nathaniel, Xavier Gustamantes & JR Martinez, Nehemiah Orozco, Cameron Burton, Alexander Watkins, Shania Green, Naomi Teasyatwho fiancee’ Logan, Ambrosia Teasyatwho, Ruben Teasyatwho wife Laura, Elias & Santos Jr Ramirez, Julianna, Christopher & LaRae Brewton, Viviana, Joshua Jr, & Natalia Medina, Clarissa, Miranda & Joe Sanchez; 8 great-great-grandchildren: Adrian & Christian Guevara, Ella, Logan, & Baby Sproul, Arayah & baby Gustamantes, & Baby Eaker; sisters-in-laws: Adela & Paula, nieces of the Sylva family-Mary husband John Trevino & family, Katie husband Ramon Sylva Jr & family, Linda Matta & family; as well as numerous nieces and nephews of the Dutchover family, nephew Abraham Medina & family, niece Marisol Medina & family; as well as one aunt Julia Bettencourt & family. He loved each of his family so much and loved to visit with them and give Godly advice. There was never a time he was not available to show his love. A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow at American Legion on 1620 N. Montana, Roswell NM, for family & friends to celebrate Carlos’s life! Carlos R Medina Jr was born on November 13, 1935, to Jose Carlos R Medina Sr and Maxima in Sabinal, TX. His mom later passed while still a young child, his dad later married Guadalupe Quintero & then later moved to Hagerman NM, in 1950, where he was raised for the rest of his teen life. There he met his wife Isabel Quiroz of Hagerman NM, in 1954, married, and had 10 children. Carlos was a very hard-working, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather & great-great-grandfather. He was in business with his father & brother. Hay Hauling & Sheep Shearing. Carlos loved taking his boys deer hunting. He remained physically working and became a minister & pastor of the Assemblies of God Church organization in Hagerman NM. Then he moved his family to Cumberland (called Midway) City. He then became pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God in Roswell NM in 1974. Later in 1976, he opened his own non-denominational Church in Roswell NM named Templo Getsemani Pentecostes. He remained there the rest of his life! Carlos loved the ministry and loved pastors and evangelists that he met along the way that had crossed his path throughout his life! He loved and embraced his ministry friends! He loved & enjoyed praying and speaking to anyone about the word of God! He loved giving spiritual advice and counseling. His mission in life was God! Carlos is preceded in death by his parents Jose & Maxima & stepmom Guadalupe Q. Medina, mother-in-law Juanita Quiroz, daughter Ruth Ann, son Ruben Medina, son-in-law Joe Sanchez, daughter in law Arlene Medina, daughter-in-law Lucy Chavez Medina, brother Mack P. Medina, sister Olivia Sylva, numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, grandson Felipe Richard Gustamantes, grandson Fabian Gustamantes, granddaughter Jessica Erives, & great-grandson baby Brewton & great-great-grandson baby J’Angelo Cobos, uncles Paul G & Jesse Bettencourt, nephew Charlie Dutchover, niece Julia Chavez Dutchover. He will greatly & forever be missed by all who knew him, but we know his place is where he longed to be, with Jesus!
