Cheryl Ann Sales

Cheryl Ann Sales, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on March 12, 2025. She was greeted by her grandson, Beau Armstrong, who had just passed away ten days earlier. Cheryl had been battling lung cancer and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, on August 20, 1956, to Richard and Muriel Fontaine, Cheryl was an "Army brat" who moved all over the country and overseas during her childhood. Cheryl met her husband, Rudy, while working as a finance clerk at White Sands Missile Range. They were married for 41 years and had six children together. One of her favorite phrases to say to Rudy when he came home was, "Did you get me cigarettes?" as soon as he walked through the door. She is survived by her husband: Rudy Sales. Her children: Dina Keyser, Heather Brown, Melissa Boardman, Michael David Stoker, Pete Sales, and Tiffany Sales. Her grandchildren: Alejandro Salmon, Destiny Brown, Lily Brown, Thomas Brown, Arthur Brown, Levi Stoker, Leah Stoker, Skyler Stoker, Parker Stoker, and Samantha Stephens. Her siblings: Richard Fontaine, Ursula Wilson, Michelle Hewitt, and Mike Fontaine. And her nieces: Nicole Herrin, Jessica Hewitt, and nephews: Russell Wilson, Chris Fontaine, and Justin Fontaine. Cheryl was always happiest when she was at the casino. She loved going not only to gamble but also to enjoy the beautiful scenery at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. While she could swear like a sailor when the mood inspired her, it was part of the charm that endeared her to so many. She was a loving and supportive mother, a constant source of encouragement, and a woman of good character. She instilled in her children the importance of family, hard work, and kindness. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew her funny, sassy demeanor, especially her husband and children. She leaves behind a legacy of love, silliness, and kindness that will forever be cherished. Cheryl’s Memorial Service will be held on April 11, 2025, at 10 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 2201 W. Country Club Rd, Roswell, New Mexico 88201.
