Corby Lu Cummins

Corby L. Cummins, maiden name Howe, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday June 4, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico, surrounded by love. Corby was born in York, Nebraska, to Betty (Jamie) Howe and Wesley Howe, who both preceded her in death. She graduated from Finneytown High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and went on to attend Morehead State University. She lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, faith, and a deep love for family, friends, and animals. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Cummins of Roswell, New Mexico; her sister Pamela Block and husband Jeff Block of Gilbert, Arizona; her niece Aimee Gallaway and husband Antoine Gallaway of Fort Worth, Texas; great-niece Raelynn; great-nephew Noah; and great-great-nephew Luther. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Shawn Price and husband Jason Price, along with grandson Zachary of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law Mettie Cummins of Roswell, New Mexico; and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and compassion. Corby was most recently employed by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in Roswell, where she was deeply valued and appreciated by both coworkers and clients alike. She had a servant’s heart — always putting others before herself — and found joy in caring for others, including serving in the children’s ministry at church. Corby had a vibrant spirit and a personality people naturally gravitated toward. Her favorite color was purple, and she loved unique jewelry that reflected her fun and creative style. She adored her cats and treated them like family. She also loved cooking for the people she loved, and those closest to her will forever remember her amazing spaghetti and her homemade seasoned tortilla chips that became a family favorite. She also had a special gift for making people feel remembered and loved through the beautiful greeting cards she thoughtfully chose and sent for every occasion. She especially enjoyed taking day trips to Ruidoso with her husband, Terry, and loved discovering new lunch spots together along the way. Above all, Corby will be remembered for her caring and selfless nature. She was always thinking of others, always willing to help, and always ready with kindness and encouragement. She had the kind of laugh that filled a room and made everyone around her smile. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. At this time, cremation is being handled by Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory of Roswell, New Mexico. Service details are to be determined.
