Dagoberto Tarin

Dagoberto “Bert” Tarin, 63, went to be with our heavenly father on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Bert was born on August 9, 1960 in Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico to Pedro and Carlota Tarin. He moved to Roswell in 1962 where he was raised on a farm which led to him being a mischievous child and free spirit. Growing up on the farm, his father instilled a strong work ethic, which he then passed down to his family. Bert was a hardworking man; always up before the rooster crowed. He worked for Nova Bus as a welder, committing 17 years and making many lifetime friendships. He then went on to work in the oilfields as a diesel mechanic for many years where he would eventually retire due to illness. Bert was always up for a good laugh. The most memorable thing about him was his personality. He had the most infectious laugh and never failed to make others laugh with his sense of humor. He had many hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed coaching his children when they were young, attending horse races, and going to the casino. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a passion for his animals, training and racing horses, and later raising gamefowl. Some of his best moments later in life were with his long-time companion, Phyllis, and their family. He had a love for music, and they would often go to concerts to watch some of their favorite artists. Bert loved to travel, one of his best times was going to Missouri with his family where they went white water rafting. His most cherished moments were watching his grandchildren play sports and teaching them to hunt and fish. Those left to cherish Bert’s memory are his companion, Phyllis; children: Misty (Ray), Donnie, Michael, Jaime (Holly), Hector (Mireya), and Veronica; his grandchildren; Brooklynne, Daniel, Nate, Graydon, Kathen, Gavin, Carlos, Damien, Addie, DeAnna, Richard, Hector, Patrick, and Aubrey; brothers: Raul (Stella), Augustin (Lorena), Michael (Angela); and numerous nephews and nieces. Bert is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Carlota Tarin, siblings; Lupe, Arturo, Miguel and Luzmila Tarin; mother of his children, Rose Tarin. Graveside service and burial will be Friday, August 9, 2024 at South Park Cemetery. Bert’s tribute was written in his honor by his family.
