David C Fairbank

David C. Fairbank, 54, returned home to his Father, February 27, 2019, after a long, hard fight with cancer at his home with his girlfriend and his three loving kids, (“Pup-Pup’s”) Little Bit, PeeWee and Ms. Ellie, all by his side. David was born to Larry Fairbank of Roswell and Maureen Fairbank of Great Britain on October 20, 1964, in Heidelberg, Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Maureen. David was patriotic for both his English and American heritage, he loved our American flag. David is survived by one sister, Margaret Fairbank and her husband, Kim Hutton both of Roswell; one brother, Michael Fairbank of McDonald, Tennessee; a niece Lexi Fairbank of Cleveland, Tennessee; and a step niece, Christi Langston of Roswell. He is also survived by a sister from other parents, Loretta (Campos) O’Neil, and two other brothers from other parents, Dan Everett and David Stone. We know David didn't feel this way, but he touched the lives of many people with his smile, generosity, kindness, and sense of humor, along with his strength and ability to overcome impossible odds. David had a passion for his family, animals, motorcycles and his cop shows. He loved to take his Harley out and become free with the wind and the road. David loved quiet time with his pup-pups in his yard just enjoying the little moments that dogs bring you. He enjoyed working on his vehicles. David spent many years driving semi-trucks cross country and enjoyed the open road. David didn’t like any kind of injustice, especially with regards to women, children or animals. He had been known to intervene in such matters with no thought to his own safety. David had a form of cancer that was very invasive and aggressive. He fought for a little over four years. It's horrible and we can't think of anything that is more destructive to the person fighting it. It takes a toll on the whole family. It steals freedom. It steals your life. David was lucky enough to have some good friends in his life. We would like to thank all his doctors that fought so hard with him. Services: Friends and family are invited to attend an informal Memorial Service on Friday, March 15, 2019, 1:00 PM, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, Roswell, NM. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 PM, at South Park Cemetery Friends are welcome to join the family at 2407 S. Carver Drive after the Graveside Service. Pallbearers include Michael Fairbank, Kim Hutton, Dan Everett, Christi Langston, Michael O’Neil, and Kevin Plotner.
