Delia “Dillie” Carrillo February 17, 1945 – September 20, 2024 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Delia “Dillie” Carrillo, who peacefully passed away at her home in Roswell, NM, on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the age of 79. A Funeral Service to honor Dillie’s beautiful life will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Her family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating the life of a women whose love truly knew no bounds Dillie was born February 17, 1945, to Flora Autunez and Quirino Antunez in Corona, NM. Dillie was a loving wife to Pedro “Pete” Carrillo, whom she married on June 21, 1969, and together they spent 55 years forming the foundation of love for the family to come. Throughout her life, Dillie was a beacon of light to everyone who knew her. She lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to caring for others. As a senior companion at the Joy Center and a caregiver at multiple nursing homes for many years till retirement, Dillie found her true calling. She poured her heart into her work, not just because it was her job, but because she loved people. Her gentle touch, her listening ear, and her constant willingness to give made her a treasure to those in her care and a source of inspiration for everyone around her. Beyond her work, Dillie was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother and her family’s greatest treasure. She is survived by her beloved husband, Pedro “Pete” Carrillo; her son, Joseph Carrillo (Sharla); her daughter, Regina Carrillo; her grandchildren: Alyssa Carrillo, Bryce Carrillo, Jesse Yanes, Aryana Yanes, Geriann Stephens, and Clarissa Romero; her great grandchildren: Jayden Romero Reyes, Cameron Reyes, and Monte Reyes; her sisters: Lupe Antunez and Emma Frantz; and her wonderful neighbor, Bea Marquez. Her family was the center of her universe, and she never hesitated to show them how deeply she loved them. Though Dillie has left us, she is now reunited with her son, Floyd Romero; her grandson, Zayne Carrillo; her sisters: Betty Garcia, Vicky Flores, Carmen Romero, Hortencia Antunez; her brothers: Joe Auntunez and George Antunez; and her childhood best friend, Virginia “Virgie” Gonzales. She now joins them in eternal peace. The thought of her being together with them again brings a small measure of peace amidst the heartache of her loss. Dillie’s life was a shining example of what it means to love unconditionally and to serve selflessly. Her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering strength will live on in the memories of those who were lucky enough to know her. She will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her.
