Obituary for Dolores "Dody" Garcia Vasquez. Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Dolores "Dody" Vasquez, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerque, NM, Thursday, September 17, 2020. On August 24, 1938, Dolores was born to Augustine and Jesusita "Jessie" Garcia in Roswell, NM. She was a faithful Catholic devoted to Our Lord and His Blessed Mother. Dody spent her career as a cosmetologist of over 35 years. Her most treasured moments were the times she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Dody will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to have known her. SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of Dody are her children: Lloyd Romero and husband Gary Parks, Leslie Ormand and husband Sean, Denise Valadez, Raymond Vasquez and wife Misty Mathews; grandchildren: Freddy Fuentes and wife Marie, Mark Ormand and girlfriend Sinea Runnels, John Ormand and wife Camille, Alexis Vasquez, Esperanza Kincaid and wife Alex, Ashley Vasquez and fiancé Noah Torrez, Adrianna Valadez, Nathaniel Vasquez, Daniel Vasquez and Brooklynne Fresquez; great-grandchild, Kase Hill Ormand; siblings: Mary Anges "Willie" Jimenez, Tommy "Tubby" Garcia, Eddie Garcia and wife Ramona, Virginia Lopez and husband Ray, Margaret Martinez, Tony Garcia and wife Martha; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. PRECEDED: Dody was preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Jessie Garcia; grandmother, Dolores "Lola" Garcia; first husband, Lloyd Romero; second husband, Richard Vasquez; daughter, Renee Vasquez-Marquez; brother, Lionel Garcia; and her beloved dog, Daisy. SERVICES: There will be a Visitation for Dody at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Family and friends will gather for a Mass at St. John the Baptist Church on Friday, October 9, 2020, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. The family is requesting for anyone wanting to attend services to wearing facial masks at ALL times.
