CORRECTED OBITUARY DUE TO A MISPRINT FROM PRIOR OBITUARY Edward Michael Marquis, 74, of Roswell, New Mexico, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 4, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM, located at 2609 S. Main St. in Roswell, officiated by Eugene De Los Santos. A reception will be held at El Cavaro Baptist Church located at 600 E. Tilden, following the service. Michael, also known by Mike, was born on September 4, 1950, to Petra & Frank Marquis Sr. of Roswell, New Mexico. Mike attended Ronhart Park High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army. Mike was with the 11th Armored Calvary out of Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, Texas, where he was first deployed and sent to Vietnam. While serving his country he was wounded and later received 5 metals: a National Defense Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Purple Heart Metal, Combat Medical Badge (EMT), and an Expert Badge M-16 rifle metal. Prior to his retirement, his occupation was an EMT. Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Marquis; his parents, Frank Marquis Sr. and Petra Marquis; grandparents: William Marquis, Grace Murdock, Melcor Chavez, and Andrea Montoya; and his nephew, Frank Marquis III. Mike will be truly missed by his family and friends. Survivors left to eternally treasure and cherish memories are his children: Michael Marquis Jr. and his companion Lucy, Nicole Marquis and her companion, Scott, Elizabeth Alanis and her husband, Benito, and Victoria Guajaca; siblings: Katherine Kingsley and her husband, Rick, Marie Lemons and her husband, Kelly, Frank Marquis Jr, Richard Marquis and his wife, Patty, and Lori Fine; grandchildren: Charity Zarazua and husband, Sammy, Rosa Bernal and husband, Raymond, and Angelina Gomez; great-grandchildren: Carlos Zarazua, Estrella Zarazua, Anthony Molina Jr., Raymond Bernal Jr., Jedidiah Bernal, Namine Juarez, and Erineo Juarez; nieces and nephews: Aleta Kingsley, Regina Kingsley, Jennifer Lemons, Patricia Lemons, Nathan Lemons, Jarred Marquis, Justin Marquis, Joshua Fine, Jonathan Fine, Laticia Fine, Shalene Fine, Jeramiah Fine, Erin Fine, Tiffany Fine, Rachel Fine, Joseph Fine, and Makaela Fine.
