There will be a Visitation held at Victory live Fellowship at 8:00 AM Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM Sunday, October 15, 2023 located at 602 N. 10th Artesia, NM with Pastor Rudy Melendrez officiating. On December 1,1957, Eliaz Hernandez was born to Philliepe Ramos and Felicitas Hernandez in Glendale, Arizona. He was the beloved husband of Elma Sue Reyes, who married in August of 1977. He was the Pastor and founder of Victory Life Fellowship. Pastor Alex as known by many was a man who had a intmate relationship with the lord.. In 1985 he was then sent to a mens Christian home in San Antonio Texas where the lord delivered him from his drug and alcohol abuse. He then dedicated two more years to growing a closer relation to God and became ordained to be a pastor. Alex had a vision over 37 years ago to return to his home town and make a difference in the lives of the lost and broken hearted. He was able to make that dream come true when he returned to Artesia as a living testimony as to all the wonders the lord had given to his live. He gave of his whole heart to his family and his community teaching the word of God to all those he crossed. He was also passoniate about creating beauty with bhand crafteed wood workings, metal projects and restoring old antiques. He was kind, and gental, he was patient, and strong, Pastor Alex will be dearly and eternally missed by his family and friends. His favorite amd most reviered scripture was from Matthew 25:23 “ His Master replied; well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Masters happiness.” Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Eliaz are his daughter: Alexandria Hernandez; grand children: Nehemiah Almanza, Isabella Alma Mariscal, Noah Alexander Mariscal, Elizabeth Angela Mariscal; mother: Felicitas H. Lunares; sibilings: Arturo Hernandes, Gonzalo Hernandez, Feliciano Hernandez, Lupita Valenzuela, Jovita DelaRosa; sisters: Yolanda Lunares, Elena Lunares, Sylvia Wdell, Katherine Smith Eliaz is preceded in death by his spouse: Alma Sue Garcia Hernandez; daughter: Julia Hernandez Mariscal; parents: Guadalupe Hernandez; Seferina Hernandez; sibilings: Marin Ponce, Benito Hernandez, Edwardo Hernandez, Rafael Hernandez, Jose Hinojos, Miguel Cortes, Leo Lunares, Rodrigo Lunares. Blessed to be chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are: All the men whos lives he helped bring closer to the Lord. Eliaz’s tribute was written in his honor by his family.
