Elisa Bejarano

Everyone who knew our Mother, Elisa Bejarano, will be gathering to celebrate her life and everything she did to make all of our lives richer. Some of us called her Mom, three special ladies called her Sister, while others called her Grandma or Tia Licho. Our Mother knew how to be strong and how to love even stronger. There will be grandchildren who will miss her smile and loving hugs, sons and daughters who were better people for having her as a woman to look up to and respect. Her life was never easy, but she would be the last one to say that she hadn't lived it to the fullest. There were no strangers in her life, just people she hadn't met yet. Our mother loved to sing and many of her favorite moments were singing in the choir at church. There will be an empty seat at the basketball, soccer, and baseball practices and games in Dexter where you could always find her supporting first my sister Gina, then her grandson Carlos.. She has gone to join her sons Alberto, Robert, and Ray who have been waiting for her in heaven. My sisters and I are left behind to watch over her husband Domingo, grandson Carlos and newest granddaughter Mia who loved her Nana and always wanted to call her on the phone. We ask that you come with us to celebrate the life of a woman who touched all our lives and we were the better for it. Elisa was a woman who cared for her communitY and once led the fight against the Triassic Waste dump. She loved her "little home on the prairie" and all of the creatures who depended on her, us included.. Our joy is gone for now, but she will live on in our hearts, minds, and in the stories we will always tell about her. . A rosary will be recited for Elisa Bejarano, 77, of Hagerman at 7 pm Friday, January 12, 2007, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dexter. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Elisa at 10 am Saturday, January 13, 2007, at Immaculate Conception with Father Richard Lifrak officiating. Burial to follow at South Park Cemetery. Elisa passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Elisa was born on September 19, 1929 to Conception Chacon and Luisa Galindo in Pecos, Texas. She was a member of Immaculate Conception and sang in the choir for numerous years and lived for her family. Elisa is survived by her husband, Domingo of the family home; her son, Mike Jimenez of Roswell, her two daughters, Regina Bejarano of Dexter and Connie Needham of Roswell; her grandchildren, Felipe Gamboa, Sammy Jimenez, Sonia Jimenez,Veronica Garcia, Ricardo Jimenez, Anthony Jimenez,Jessica Martin, Renee Jimenez, Carlos and Mia Bejarano, Rey,Tony and Frankie Jimenez; sisters, Paula Romero, Lupe Narbaiz, Tome Romo and Susan Chacon; brother, Chon Chacon Jr. and eight great-grandchildren. Elisa was preceded in death by her parents, Chon and Luisa Chacon, her loving sons, Albert, Robert and Ray Jimenez, brothers, Samuel and Genovevo Chacon and her sister, Eva Ramirez. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons and Jessie Alvarez. Honorary Pallbearers will be her Granddaughters.
