On Monday, March 4, 2019, Emilio S. Tesillo, 64, passed away at his home surrounded with his loved ones, in Artesia, New Mexico. Services: There will be a Viewing at Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church, 1507 Hermosa, Artesia, NM, on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Artesia, NM. On May 21, 1954, Emilio was born in Artesia, New Mexico, to Ray Hernandez and Petra Tesillo. Emilio had a beautiful family which he began when he married his lovely wife, Rachel, on December 22, 1973, in Artesia, New Mexico. He worked in the maintenance/custodial profession; consistently providing an honest living for his family. As a family-oriented man, Emilio loved children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He was a member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church. Emilio was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, not only by his family and friends, but by all those fortunate enough to have known him. Survivors: Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Emilio are his loving wife, Rachel Contreras Tesillo; sons: Eric Tesillo and wife Samantha of Lubbock, TX, Emilio C. Tesillo Jr. and girlfriend Sandy Buckelew; daughters: Sarah Goff and husband Howard, and Sandra Pacheco and husband Matt all of Artesia, NM; grandchildren: Anthony Tesillo and wife Katherin, Isaac Goff of Artesia, NM, Jordon Tesillo of Socorro, NM, Adrian Goff of Artesia, NM, Jennifer Galvan, Stephanie Galvan, Christy Rogers, and Hector Galvan all of Lubbock, TX, Josiah Lopez of Albuquerque, NM; great-grandson, Josiah Galvan of Lubbock, TX; siblings: Nate Tesillo and wife Sofia of Artesia, NM, Tommy Tesillo and wife Cecilia of Hobbs, NM, Jerry Tesillo of Arizona, Tony Tesillo and wife Gloria of Roswell, NM, Chris Hernandez, Nellie Venegas and husband Ruben, Lina Hernandez of Lubbock, TX; uncles: Oscar Molinar and Tommy Hernandez; aunt, Socorro Esquibel of Artesia, NM; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends: Pete Esquibel of Artesia, NM, Dario Velasquez of Carlsbad, NM, Paul Galbadon of Albuquerque, NM, Richard Cardenas of Artesia, NM, and Ismael Porras of Carlsbad, NM. Preceded: Emilio is preceded in death by his grandsons: Isaiah Tesillo and Avelino Ray Tesillo; father, Ray Hernandez of Lubbock, TX; mother, Petra Tesillo of Artesia, NM; grandmother, Thomasa Tesillo; and brother, Tommy Sanchez.
