Epifano (Eppie) V. Silva, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 21, 2024. Celebrate Eppie’s life by visiting www.andersonbethany.com to offer a memory or expression of sympathy for his family. There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 11 am to 3 pm, a Memorial Service will take place at 1 pm, with the Viewing to resume after. Interment will take place at South Park Cemetery at a later time. Eppie was born on September 13, 1950, to Gomesindo and Elizabeth Silva, in Roswell, NM, where he lived his entire life. He started his cooking journey young, working at Chew Den on South Main when he was just 14. For over 30 years, he was Jack and Susie’s sous chef. Later, he moved to Chews West on Second Street, cooking up everyone’s favorites until it closed. Roswell still misses the food he made. On his days off, he relaxed by sharing good times with friends, often enjoying a smoke and a drink outdoors. He would also enjoy being around family during get-togethers. He lived with his sister, Faye, his best friend and caregiver, on the Silva Ranch where he spent his last days. When he smiled you couldn’t help but smile too. Those left to cherish Eppie’s memory are brothers: Fernando V. Silva and wife, Sheila of Cisco, TX, Jesse V. Silva and wife, Paula of Roswell; sisters: Adella Griffith and husband, Carl of Converse, TX, Faye Silva of Roswell, Maggie Garrison of Roswell, Linda Aylwin Silva of Mesquite, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Eppie is preceded in death by his beloved parents: Gomesindo and Elizabeth Sliva; he is also reunited peace with brothers: Marcello Silva; Steve Silva, James Silva, Gomesindo (Chindo) Silva Jr., and Albert Silva; sister, Nieves Ramey; nephew Greg Ramey; and sisters-in-law: Nancy Silva, Debbie Silva, Flora Silva, Mary Silva, and Zondra Silva; and numerous aunts and uncles. Eppie’s family would like to thank the hospice nurses from Enhabit Home Health, you showed so much love and care for him. We appreciate everything that you did.
