Obituary for Ernestina Quintana Under picture Loving Christian Mother and Grandmother Prayer services for Ernestina Quintana, 83, of Roswell will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2006, at Iglesia de Dios. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Iglesia de Dios with Pastor Daniel Madrid officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Ernestina was born on March 29, 1923 to Rita and Antonio Montes. She passed away Friday, November 10, 2006, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Ernestina is preceded in death by her parents, Rita and Antonio Montes; her brother, Ambrosio Montes; sisters, Delfina Montes, Amalia Montes, Marcelina Montes, and Micaela Montes; and a daughter, Graceila Moyers. Ernestina is survived by her daughters, Martha Torres and her husband, Billy, of Roswell, and Carmen Atkinson and her husband, Thomas, of Houston, TX; ten grandchildren, Billy, Sammy, Louie, and Joel Torres, Lilly T. Janson, Sandra Brewer, Stephanie Subirats, Thomas, Natalie, and Rachel Atkinson; thirteen great-grandchildren, Timothy Torres, James and Patrick Brewer, Daniella Gladys, Michael, and Michelle Sills, Brianna, Esperanza, and Cheyenne Torres, all from Roswell, Hope and Tommy Atkinson, Gabriel and Anabelle Subirats, all of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ernestina was a nurse in her earlier years. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Church of God/Assembly of God. Her favorite hymn was “Divino Companero” and her favorite Bible verse was the 23rd Psalm. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me ; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever The family invites friends to join them for a meal at the church following the burial. Pallbearers will be Billy Torres, Joel Torres, Louie Torres, T. J. Atkinson, Jesus Montes, and Diego Montes. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy S. Torres, Thomas Atkinson, and Sammy Torres.
