Eulalia Gurrola

A prayer service for Eulalia Gurrola, 78, of Dexter will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Roswell Assembly Gospel Church with Pastor Raul Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Eulalia was born on March 30, 1930 to Pedro Marquez Aldava and Maria Luna Marquez Aldava in Chalchiguites, Zacatecas, Mexico. She and Guillermo Gurrola were married in May of 1950 in Durango Mexico, he preceded her in death. They moved to Roswell forty years ago from Durango. Eulalia was a homemaker and loved to sing and dance. She also liked to sew, make paper mache flowers and draw. She loved being with family and friends and having family gatherings Eulalia is survived by her children, Rosa Martinez and her husband, Raul, of Dexter , Guillermo Gurrola Jr., Pete A. Gurrola, James Gurrola Sr. and his wife, Rocio, all of Albuquerque, Raymond Gurrola of Roswell, and Guillermina Moreno and her husband, Juan, of Dexter, two sisters, Amparo M. Gurrola and Esther M. Velo both of Artesia; four brothers, Ramon Marquez of Roswell, Felipe Marquez of Guerro, Durango, Mexico, Pablo Marquez of Mexico City, Mexico, Julio Marquez of Guerro Durango, Mexico; a nephew, Joel Chavez and his wife, Carol of Carson, CA; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends. Eulalia was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo Gurrola Sr., parents, Pedro and Maria Luna Marquez, two daughters, Conchita Gurrola and Mary Walker, two sisters, Teresa and Lupe Marquez, a brother, Jesus Marquez, and father and mother-in-law, David and Audelia Simental Gurrola. Pallbearers will be Israel Moreno, Juan Moreno Jr., Gabriel Gurrola, Raul Martinez, James Gurrola Jr., Jose L. Gurrola, Derek Gurrola, Michael Gurrola, Josh Gurrola and Juan Moreno. Honorary pallbearers will be Jasmine Ortega, Anna Rose Martinez, Dalia Rose Martinez, Erika Gurrola, Megan Gurrola, April Walker, Terresa Walker, Amanda Booth, Lillie Moreno, and Krystal Moreno.
