Florinda "Flo" Flores

FLORINDA FLORES 1/16/1935 – 12/13/2020 Flo was an amazing woman. She was a great honorable woman who loved her family more than anything and was never afraid to tell them just how much they meant to her. Flo was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church, where she was a part of the Women’s Society. She was also an active member of the Joy Center, where she loved exercising and having lunch with her friends. Flo lived her life at her own pace, never allowing life punches to slow her down. She faced everything with strength and grace and would always say, “This too shall pass.” Flo had a great work ethic. SERVICES: A Viewing for Florinda will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, December 17, 2020, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Flo was a hard worker, she first retired from Hancock Fabrics and then went to work as a cafeteria server for the Roswell Independent District (RISD,) and retired after twenty-five years. She was spunky and witty, just an all-around joy to be with. There is so much more that could be said about her, but I promise that the newspaper doesn’t have enough room. On Sunday, December 13, 2020, with God’s grace, Flo went to be with her family, her husband, daughter and son. This is a day she had waited a long time for and I know that she is happy. Flo will be greatly missed by so many. I ask that when you think of her you smile and do something kind for someone. SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish Florinda’s memory are her daughter-in-law: Angelita Flores; granddaughters: Christine Wiggins and husband David and Rose Olivarez; grandsons: Chencho Flores and wife Denise, Phillip Lopez and wife Luningning, Tim Lopez and wife Michelle, Erick Varela and wife Maria; her best friends, granddaughters: Kristian Rodriguez and Samantha Rodriguez; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many close friends (the Silver girls.) PRECEDED: Florinda was preceded in death by her husband, Chencho Flores; children: Chris Flores and Cathy Flores; granddaughter: Stormy Rae Rodriguez; and siblings: Tommy Saavedra, Florencio Saavedra and Lucy Ysco. As her family, we would like to thank the Silver girls for being such good friends; Flo’s nieces: Denise and Rosanne for the casino trips; the Garcia family for always taking care of whatever she needed; the Sena family for always looking out for Flo; and William Vegara for getting her mail, so she wouldn’t have to get out of her car.
