Freddy Guy Kelley

Freddy Guy Kelley, 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico. A viewing will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory in Roswell, New Mexico, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A visitation will be held at 1st Baptist in Earth, Texas, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a Graveside service to follow at Earth Memorial Cemetery. Freddy was born on January 7, 1948, in Amherst, Texas, to Clarence and Clota Belle (Sanders) Kelley. A dedicated student and hard worker, he graduated from Springlake Earth High School in 1966. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1976. In 1978, he received his Basic Law Enforcement Certificate in Texas, beginning a long and committed career in public service. Freddy Served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 at Alameda Naval Base in Alameda, California. He then worked at Roswell Correctional Center from 1979 to 1990 serving as an officer and deputy warden. From 1991 to 2006, he served the community as a bailiff in the 5th District Court, where he was known for his professionalism, reliability, and steady presence. Freddy devoted his life to family, service, education, and integrity. His work touched many lives, and his legacy will be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Those left to eternally cherish and treasure the memories of Freddy are his wife, Sherry Kelley; children: Chase Kelley and Jennifer Ray (Dustin); grandchildren: Mckenzie Kelley, Hailey Kelley (Leslie Reyes), Lane Hellums (Nichelle), Brittany Ray (Sam Freeman), Madison Ray, Larry Ray, and Jaxon Ray; great-grandsons: Lane, Frank, Eli, Landon, Jonah, Henry; siblings: Linda Green and Kent Kelley; and so many loved ones in the Kelley, Sanders, Green, and Pittman Families. Freddy is preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Clota Belle (Sanders) Kelley; father-in-law, Alvin Pittman; sister-in-law Jeanie Kelley; nephew: Kelley Green; brother-in-law, Bobby D Green; special cousin, Randy Kelley.
