Freddy Padilla

A funeral service will be held for Freddy Padilla, 60, of Roswell, at 2 pm Friday, August 21, 2009 at Church on the Move with Pastor Shawn Kelly officiating, burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 8 am – 8 pm at the Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Freddy passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009. Freddy was born March 21, 1949 to Marshall and Juanita Padilla in Roswell, NM. Freddy married Lucy Giron on November 20, 1982 in Roswell. Freddy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed reading his bible and sharing the word of the lord with others.He loved gardening with his niece Allyssa Giron. Freddy was a member of Church on the Move, who also enjoyed working hard and drinking his coffee. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Romans 1:16. Freddy was a true soldier who loved his country and served it whole heartedly. But first and foremost he was a soldier for Christ who boldly declared the love and word of God to all he encountered. Freddy is survived by his wife, Lucy of the family home; his son, Fabian Padilla and his companion Crystal Villa; Gabriel Padilla and his wife, Barbara and Letisha Padilla all of Roswell; his sisters, Nellie Padilla, Lena and Juanita Padilla, Fina Vallejos; his brothers, Jerry Padilla and his wife, Charlotte of Battletown, KY and Johnny Padilla and his wife, Elfida; brother and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Eddie Servantez; Flora and Ben Vigil and Ernie and Eddie Giron; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Freddy will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Juanita Padilla, a sister, Nancy Padilla and a brother, Nathan Padilla. Pallbearers will be Domingo Perez, Frenchie Carlos, Graham Hill, Mike Reed, Joe Sandoval and Renee Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sammy Lucero, Ernie Vallejos, Nathan Padilla, Juan Regalado, Matthew and Sandra Rael, Joe Lujan, Frank Hernandez, Ernie Montez, David Sanchez, John Cannon and Johnny DeLos Santos.
