Gary William Padilla

A loving husband, father, and brother, Gary William Padilla, 61, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. SERVICES: There will be a Viewing on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at Church on The Move on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at General Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery. On July 15, 1960, Gary was born to Felix and Bertha Baca Padilla in Roswell, New Mexico, where he graduated. He joined the United States National Guard and was honorably discharged on 94-JUL 03. During Gary’s military service, he was awarded several medals and ribbons, including Good Conduct Medals. Gary was a proud veteran who proudly served his country. He was the beloved husband of Cindy Ann Padilla, whom he married on July 14, 2018, in San Antonio, Texas. They enjoyed spending time together traveling getting to know other places and making beautiful memories together. Although he is no longer with his family, his memory will live on in their hearts and all the friends he has left behind. Prior to retirement, Gary worked at the Spring River Golf Course as a Superintendent for thirty years. He was a member and president of the Men’s Senior League Golf. Gary was of the Christian faith and loved being a member of Church on the Move. He enjoyed golfing and being a greeter at church. Gary liked doing yard work, mowing lawns, and keeping up the yard. SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of Gary are his loving wife, Cindy Ann Padilla; four children: Griselda Hernandez, Sarie Padilla William Padilla, and Nichole Padilla; brother, Felix Joe Padilla and wife Trina; and his sister, Sheryl Padilla. PRECEDED: Gary is preceded in death by his parents: Felix and Bertha Baca Padilla; grandparents: Jose and Rosa Padilla, Eliseo and Agapita Baca; and his brothers: Roger Padilla and Carl Padilla. PALLBEARERS: Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are Anthony Leyba, Ronn Carabajal, Robert Garcia, Rudy Padilla, Moise Trujillo, and Ernesto Martinez.
