Gloria Myrna Chavez was born on October 26, 1949, to Carolina Ortiz-Torres and Munico Lopez-Conterras, in Nueva Casas Grandes, Mexico. She married Miguel Edwardo Chavez in October 1975, and on July 29, 1976, they welcomed a son, Roman E. Chavez. Gloria worked in the housekeeping department at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center for many years and earned several recognitions for her hard work in her tenure there. Those left to eternally miss Gloria are her son Roman E. Chavez; daughter in law Silvia Morones; granddaughters Pamela and Dawndria; sisters Marta and Dora; brother Martin, and one other half-brother; granddaughter Pamela, and step-granddaughter, Dawndria. Gloria’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her hospice team which included Jamie-RN, Amie-SW, Kathy-RN, Kerry-RN, and the rest of the Interim Hospice team for all love and care that they gave to Gloria. The family would like to send a special thank you to Jamie; thank you for helping Silvia work on Gloria’s care from the very beginning. From November until your well-deserved promotion, you were an excellent attribute to her care. You deserved that promotion, and we are glad that you achieved that while caring for Gloria. Gloria’s wishes of being at home till her end were given to her by her two D-POA’s and round-the-clock caregivers, her son Roman and daughter-in-law, Silvia. They worked endlessly to keep her as comfortable as they could and made sure to feed her all the food that she loved. Gloria loved Christ, attending church, dancing, and making trips to El Paso, Texas with all her little dogs. Her last dog, who was named Cholo, she loved very much. When Roman and Silvia came to care for Gloria, they brought their dogs, Chola and Tata; Gloria loved having all the dogs around. Gloria had a special place in her heart for her only granddaughter Pamela and her step granddaughter Dawndria, whom she asked from often. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Miguel, her parents Carolina and Munico, an unborn child, and her brother-in-law David. This tribute was written in Gloria’s honor by her family.
