Herminia Hitzges

A rosary will be recited for Herminia “Minnie” Hitzges, 82, of Roswell on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 11:30 am at Assumption Catholic Church with a funeral mass following at 12:10 pm with Father Andrew Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lawn Memorial Park. Minnie passed away Wednesday, May 28, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Minnie was born on June 25, 1925 to Antonio and Manuelita Garcia in Arabela, NM. She and Paul Hitzges were married June 5, 1967; he survives her at the family home. Minnie was a lifelong resident of the Roswell area, a member of the Woodmen of the World, and a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. In addition to her husband, Paul, Minnie is survived by her children, Fred Lopez and his wife, Della, Leo Lopez, both of Roswell, Pete Lopez and his wife, Trudy, of Ruidoso, Virginia Buchanan, Manuel Lopez and his wife, Dolly, both of Roswell, Johnny Hitzges of Murray, TN, David Hitzges of Miami, FL, and Teresa Hitzges of Clovis, NM; brothers, Mike Garcia of Roswell, Flavio Garcia of Big Spring, TX, and Manuelito Garcia of Roswell; sisters, Onofre Robles and Lorenza Gonzales both of Roswell; a special niece, Debbie Ramirez; grandchildren, Michael and Paul Lopez, Ray and Mary Buchanan, Rose Lopez, Michelle, Kimberly, Todd, Fernando, and Christopher Lopez, Bernadette, Barbara, and Ardo Lopez; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and her dogs, Kiki and Koko. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Manuelita Garcia; a daughter, Lorina Luna, son, Ramoncito Lopez, sisters, Martina Pacheco, Rachel Marquez, and Pauline Lincon, and brothers, Inez Garcia, Roque Varela, and Jose Barela. Pallbearers will be Ardo Lopez, Manuel Garcia Jr., Michael Garcia, and Beto, Michelle, Michael, and Paul Lopez.
