Holly L. Cain

Holly Leigh Cain went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2024, surrounded by family and in the comfort of her home. On the 29th of April in 1969, Karen and Richard Goree were blessed by the birth of a healthy, beautiful, daughter, Holly Leigh Goree. Holly graduated from Goddard High School in 1987. She married the love of her life, Bryan Cain, December 10th, 1994. They were due to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this year. Holly and Bryan raised two beautiful daughters, Sara Hankins and Haley Loving, who each went on to get married and bless her with her favorite role of all: Nana. She loved being the best fisherman on the boat at Sumner Lake and climbing “just one more ridge” to chase bugling elk in Lincoln County. She battled and defeated breast cancer in 2019, only to be faced with the challenge of battling it again in April of 2024. She fought with grace and showed everyone, yet again, how tough and strong she was. She loved Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and displayed this love through her continued selflessness, always putting others happiness and wants before her own. Holly is survived by her husband of 29 years Bryan Cain; daughter, Sara Hankins and husband Austin; grandchildren: Rayleigh and Beau; daughter, Haley Loving and husband Deric; grandson, Miles; brother, Rick Goree and wife Kathleen; nephew, Richard; nieces: Lauren and Emma; brother-in-law, Denver Cain and wife Shanna; sister-in-law, Melissa Smith and husband Dan; nephew, Bryson Smith and fiancée Sierra; nieces: Ashton and Daci Smith; brother-in-law, Tom Palmer; niece, Megan Perez and husband Allen; great-nephews: Kason and Kyler; nephew, AJ Palmer and wife Heather; great-nephew, Justin; great-niece, Jocelyn; mother-in-law, Barbara Cain; mother, Karen Sims and step-father Leon Sims; step-brother, Tye Sims; chosen family members: Kristy Bell and husband Adam and their children Ryan and Hannah Bell; lifelong best friend, Mary Alice Walker-Lysak; she also left behind her furry family of Charlie, Lacey, Bailey, and Hoss. The family knows Holly is watching over them in Heaven alongside her dad, Richard Goree; granny, Dorthy Goree; father-in-law, Robert Cain; and sister-in-law, Janice Palmer. The family would like to thank the team at Acacia Family Care for their compassionate care and unwavering support throughout Holly's battle. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to The ARM Foundation at www.armfoundation.school or The Hope Fund of Grace Community Church, 935 W. Mescalero, Roswell, New Mexico 88201 in honor of Holly. Information regarding a celebration of Holly’s life will be provided by the family at a later time.
