Ignacio Castillo Silva, 84, peacefully entered into rest on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. There will be a viewing held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory, with the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. John’s Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with an interment at South Park Cemetery following services. On December 7, 1940, Ignacio was born to Rosalio and Ignacia Silva in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Ignacio met the love of his life, Ofelia, and in 1967, they were wed in Alaquines, Mexico. Together, they relocated to Roswell, New Mexico, where they built a life full of love and happiness. Ignacio was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church for many years. Before retirement, Ignacio worked as a butcher for Payne Packing Company in Artesia, New Mexico; he was employed here for over 30 years. Ignacio found joy in the simple things in life, like horses, jaripeos, and Matanzas with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Those left to treasure and cherish their memories with Ignacio are his children: Milo Silva and wife, Reyna, Jose Silva and wife, Veronica, Gerardo Silva and girlfriend, Shiela, and Patricia Alvarez and husband, Sergio; grandchildren: Milo Silva Jr. and girlfriend, Ana, Nathaniel Silva, Miguel Trujillo, Ricardo Silva and wife, Raeanna, Armando Silva and girlfriend Maria, Jose Silva and girlfriend, Vanessa, Leticia Silva, Juan Carlos Alvarez, Miguel Angel Alvarez, Annaeli Alvarez, and Elianna Alvarez; great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Alfaro, Mia Silva, Camila Vianae Silva, Aaron Sarellano, and Adali Silva; siblings: Silvino Silva, Inez Silva, Juan Silva, Lencho Silva, Natolio Silva, and Gloria Silva; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Thomas Federico and Miguel Lopez. Those waiting with open arms to welcome Ignacio into eternal rest are his loving wife, Ofelia Silva; parents: Rosalio and Ignacia Silva; children: Manuelita Silva and Leticia Silva; and sibling, Hermilo Silva. Blessed to be chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are Leticia Silva, Annaeli Alvarez, Ileanna Alvarez, Aaliyah Alfaro, Aaron Sarellano, Adali Silva, Mia Silva, and Camila Silva. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Ricardo Silva, Armando Silva, Milo Silva Jr., Nathaniel Silva, Miguel Trujillo, Jose Silva, Juan Carlos Alvarez, and Miguel Angel Alvarez.
