There will be a visitation at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home, on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 9, 2023, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On December 8, 1977, Israel was born to Refugio Olivas and Cruz Medellin in Roswell, NM. He loved working on tractors and playing baseball. Spending time with his nephews RJ and Giovanni was something that brought him great joy. Israel will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Israel are his daughters: Lauren Olivas and Caitlyn Olivas; father, Refugio Olivas; mother, Cruz Medellin; step dad, Rafael Medellin; grandparents: Paz and Magdalena Carrillo; brothers: Rafael Olivas and Gabriel Olivas; nephews: Rafael Antonio Olivas, Giovanni Edward Olivas and Diego Olivas; nieces: Diana Olivas and Alexis Olivas; paternal grandma, Guadalupe Olivas; paternal uncles: Alfredo and wife Virginia Olivas, Jorge and wife Catalina Olivas, Sergio and wife Araceli Olivas, Abelardo Olivas, and Rodolfo and wife Mayela Olivas; maternal aunts and uncles: Jose and wife Susan Madrid, Joe and wife Vickie Silvas, Benigano and wife Nellie Carrillo, Olivia (Perez) Carrillo, Fito and wife Luz Torres, Alma Carrillo, Jorge and wife Sylvia Carrasco; and numerous cousins and family members. Israel is preceded in death by paternal grandparent, Alfredo Olivas; maternal grandparents: Paz and Magdalena Carrillo; and aunt, Vickie Silvas. Blessed to be chosen as Pallbearers are Joe Silvas Jr, Jorge Carrasco, Sergio Olivas Jr., Daniel Olivas, Armando Olivas, and Andres Olivas.
