Jackie Wayne Williams

Jackie Wayne Williams, 70, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Jack’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. Per Jack’s request, there will be no services. Jack was brought into this world by Dr. Valentine on February 14, 1954, to E.L. “Red” Williams Sr. and Billy Jo Williams in El Paso, Texas. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Debbie Spear. Together, they had two children, Christie Campbell and husband Justin, and Jimmie Williams and wife Melissa, who gave them their greatest blessings, their grandchildren, Cooper, and Caitlin Campbell and Jace and Jackson Williams. As a teenager, Jack worked as a mechanic for his father at his service station. In 1982, the Williams family started South Main Metal Building Supply. Over the last 42 years, the business has expanded, offering metal building and steel supplies, as well as commercial and residential construction. In retirement, Jack was proud to see the business he built with his parents and wife, being led by the third generation, his children Christie and Jimmie, and his nephew Lee. Above all, Jack loved spending time with Debbie at their mountain retreat in the beautiful Sacramento Mountains. He enjoyed the quiet days with his wife, but also looked forward to the loud, adventure-filled weekends with family and all of his “extra” kids and grandkids he collected over the years. Jack loved to fish and hunt and was proud to say he got to hunt with each of his grandchildren. In March of this year, he got in one last hunt with his brother, his son, and his nephew. Jack was ornery and cantankerous, full of inappropriate jokes at the most inappropriate times, but the love he had for those around him and the pride he had for his family was evident to all who knew him. As Jack would say, “it’s part of it, shit happens”. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Williams; his children: Christie Campbell and husband Justin, and Jimmie Williams and wife Melissa; grandchildren: Cooper and Caitlin Campbell and Jace and Jackson Williams; his brother, Edward Lee Williams, Jr. and wife Andrea; nephew, Edward Lee Williams, III and wife Page; niece, Michelle Morales and husband David; great nieces and nephews: Kayla Banda and husband Anthony, Ryan Williams and wife Lexi, Hannah Chandler, Jared Stone, Matthew Chandler, and Madison Stone; mother-in-law, Pat Spear; brothers-in-law: Leo Spear Jr, and Randy Spear; sisters-in-law: Judaun Spear, Cheryl Johnson and husband Brad, Betty Spear, and Betty Dyess-Bradley and husband Frank; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: George and Diamond Williams; maternal grandparents: George and Annie Brooks; parents, Red and Jo; father-in-law, Leo Spear Sr; mother-in-law, Margie Brumley; brother-in-law, Terry Spear; sister-in-law, Carol Spear; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Williams family would like to thank everyone for the many calls, texts, and visits during this difficult time. Jack’s tribute was lovingly written by his family.
