James Daniel Calciano

James Daniel Calciano, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2020, at the age of 80. As per James' wishes, there will be no public visitations or services. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Jim's family at www.andersonbethany.com. Jim was born on May 28, 1940, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Daniel D. Calciano and Amelia (Nesi) Calciano. He had a big heart, a contagious smile, and made friends with everyone. Jim attended schools in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. He went on to become a steel worker, staying with U.S. Steel for 30 years. He also worked for Toll Brothers, and TMC. After retiring at the age of 79, Jim worked at Avemere. He was a member and president of the FHAA in Pennsylvania where he started a girls softball league and was later inducted into the FHAA Hall of Fame. He later coached a girls softball team here in Roswell, NM. Jim's most favorite pastime was bowling, he even bowled a 300 game. Jim enjoyed watching football and his favorite teams were the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, he also got into a fantasy football league. Jim loved music and playing in his band "Misty Blue." He was a great teacher and proudly taught his granddaughter how to play the keyboard, bowl, and play softball. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. SURVIVORS: Those surviving to cherish the memory of Jim are his loving wife, Margaret A. Calciano of New Mexico; children: James D. Calciano Jr. (Joann) of Pennsylvania, David P. Calciano (Linda) of North Carolina, Dean Calciano (Ann) of Pennsylvania, Dale R. Calciano (Inez) of New Mexico, and Deidre R. Calciano of New Mexico; grandchildren: James Calciano, Anthony Calciano, Kristin Harris (Scott) David Calciano, Mark Calciano, Ben Rivera, (Ariana), Alego Rivera, Cassandra Rivera (Martin), Briana Calciano, and Andrea Calciano; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Samuel, Christopher, Samantha, Matthew, Braylon, and Violet Rivera, and Caius Rivera, Arianny, Amaiah, Martin Isaiah Solis; one niece, one nephew, as well as several cousins. PRECEDED: Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel D and Amelia A. Calciano; his only brother, Daniel J. Calciano; and his paternal and maternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
