Janet Sue Almond

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Sue Almond, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 9, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on September 30, 1956, Janet lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and a caring heart. She found joy in the simple moments and had a gentle spirit that made those around her feel welcomed and valued. Her warm smile, quiet strength, and genuine compassion will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. For 10 years, Janet faithfully worked in maintenance and cleaning at Tobosa Little Steps Daycare, where she took great pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the children and staff. She was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to help others. Janet was also a treasured member of the Tobosa family for 13 years, where she built lasting friendships and became much more than a coworker—she became family. Her kindness, dedication, and loving presence touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Outside of work, Janet enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved gathering for barbecues, going out to eat, and sharing laughter with those she loved. One of her greatest joys was taking her beloved dog, Foxy, for walks, where she found peace in the simple beauty of each day. Janet also enjoyed learning to play cornhole, embracing every opportunity to try something new and create happy memories with those around her. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, David and Betty Almond. Janet is survived by her loving brother, Darrell Almond, along with her extended family, her many friends, and her cherished Tobosa family. Though she had no children of her own, she nurtured many hearts through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. The friendships she built and the lives she touched are a testament to the beautiful person she was. Janet’s life reminds us that a person’s greatest legacy is not measured by wealth or accomplishments, but by the love they give and the difference they make in the lives of others. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, her gentle spirit, caring heart, and beautiful smile will never be forgotten. Funeral services will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home (2609 S. Main, Roswell NM 88203) on Thursday, July 16th, 2026 at 10am. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery (3101 S. Main, Roswell NM 88203). Celebration of life will conclude at 102 N Missouri, Roswell NM at noon.
