Jesse Earl Douglas, 82, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico. Funeral service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, 2609 S Main Street, Roswell, New Mexico, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 10:00 am with Pastor Christopher Lethgo officiating. Interment will follow at General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery, 3101 S Main Street, Roswell, New Mexico. On September 27, 1943, Jesse Earl Douglas was born to Herman and Jessie Allen-Douglas in Hennessey, Oklahoma. He attended Booker T. Washington High School in Enid, Oklahoma and East High School in Wichita, Kansas. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, at the age of 17, on 20th of November 1961 and served until the 9th of May 1966. During the time he was serving his country he was awarded the National Defense Metal; the Rifle Expert Badge; Pistol Marksman Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. Jesse met and married Doris Hood in Oakland, California. Prior to retirement, he worked as an Electronics Technician for RCA and Internet and Telephone Communications for GE Corp. He also had several Real Estate ventures as well as Distribution of Fine Art. Jesse was nicknamed the Professor by his siblings and was our “fact checker” in both family and spiritual matters within the family. Earl, as he was called by close family members and friends, loved all types of gospel music, sports, board games and most of all, Earl loved Jesus. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Those left to treasure and cherish memories of Jesse Earl Douglas are his children: Pamela, Dennis, Bryan, and Mark; his grandchildren: Aminah, Marquise, Mark Jr., and Desiree; his great grandchildren: Malik, Luna, Tiphani and Ny’ari; Brothers: George, and John (Renee); and Sisters: Anna, Sarah (Julius), and Alice; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents: Herman and Jessie Douglas; Siblings: Joseph, Herman Wayne, Segatha; and granddaughter, Tiffany. Honored to serve as Pallbearers is the Military Honor Guard. The family of Jesse Douglas wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for all “hands on” deeds and every expression of sympathy and/ or benevolence you shared with him and us. Most of all, we are extremely grateful for the prayers that are sustaining us at this time of sorrow and loss. May God’s grace shine upon you now and forever more.
