Obituary for Johnny Bourland Services for Johnny Bourland, 66, of Roswell will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 5, 2007, at Church on the Move with Pastor Troy Smothermon officiating. Johnny passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Visitation for Johnny will be from 12 noon to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Johnny was born on June 5, 1941 to W. M. Bourland and Lola Belle Sumrall in Plainview, Texas. He and Judy Ann Brumitt were married Oct. 1, 1983 in Carlsbad; Judy survives Johnny at the family home. Johnny was a marketing salesman for Southwestern Public Service for thirty-five years before his retirement. Johnny was a jokester who loved to make people laugh. He was a great friend and always there when someone needed him. Johnny was a man of his word and a very giving person, who lived a faith filled life and loved his Lord Jesus Christ. He was an incredible husband and Mr. Mom, a loving son, brother, uncle, and father. Johnny was a wonderful loving grandfather; to his grandchildren he was a big teddy bear. In addition to his wife, Judy, Johnny is survived by his father, W. M. Bourland of Austin, TX; his children, Bret Bourland of Texas, LeesaVentura of Odessa, TX, Lainie Hodges and her husband, Heath, of Clovis, NM, and Justin Estes of Las Cruces, NM; a brother, Phil Bourland and his wife, Tonya, Austin, TX; sisters, Myrlene Bridwell of Austin, TX and Karen Bryant and her husband, Morris, of La Porte, TX; extended brother, Gerry Linn Johnson of Nebraska; grandchildren, Frank Ventura, and Hunter and Sydnie Hodges; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Johnny was preceded in death by his first wife, Jan Stapleton, mother, and grandparents. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bostick, Bill Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Judge John McLemore, Joe Orr, Howard Jones, Dave Scott, Carlos Cunningham, Dave Parsons, Robert Gibson, John Farmer, Ken Osborne, Roy Cahill, and H.
