A loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, JoLisa Hernandez Rubio, 40, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Roswell, NM. A viewing will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Service for JoLisa will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On January 15, 1982, JoLisa was born to Jose Luis and Beatrice Hernandez in Roswell, New Mexico, where she also graduated. She was the beloved wife of Agustin Rubio, whom she married on April 19, 2008, in Roswell, New Mexico. They were married for twenty-two wonderful years and had a beautiful daughter, Lidia Jo Rubio. JoLisa was her husband’s love of his life. JoLisa was a legal assistant at Sanders Law firm. JoLisa loved spending time with her family, she loved them dearly. She was an amazing mother, who loved baking, crafting, and reading with her most precious gem, L.J. JoLisa liked seeing football games, especially if it was her favorite team, the Broncos. All her friends and loved ones will dearly miss her presence and smile. Those left to cherish memories of JoLisa are her husband, Agustin Rubio; daughter, Lidia Jo Rubio; parents: Jose Luis and Beatrice Hernandez; siblings: B.J. and Angel Zavala, Manuel Aragon, Renee and Mago Jimenez, Emilia and Maico Quiroz, Thomas Miranda, and Justine Aragon; numerous aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews: Jose Luis Zavala, Edgar Zavala, Mayeli Zavala, Azelin Aragon, Noamiah Aragon, Eziah Aragon, Josiah Aragon, Azariah Aragon, Nicolas Mendoza, Mariana Hernandez, Patricia Quiroz, Francisco Quiroz, Anajita Rubio, Ariana Lujan, Analise Lujan, Valentino Rubio, Fernando Rubio, Alexandria Rubio, Manuel Jr. Mendoza, and Jacob Mendoza; great-niece, Catalina Mendoza; as well as her precious pet, Flash Rubio. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Lidia Rico, Tom Rico, Jose Morales, Isabel Lopez Hernandez, y Demencio Hernandez; sister, Diane Aragon; niece, Ariana Jimenez; and numerous aunts and uncles: Those blessed to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are all of JoLisa’s nephews. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Thomas Miranda, Fernando Rubio, Valentino Rubio, Angel Zavala, Mago Jimenez, and Maico Quiroz. A special “Thank You” to family and friends who sent food, flowers, and prayers. AFTERGLOW I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
