Obituary for Jose Cruz Nevarez A rosary will be recited for Jose Cruz Nevarez, 67, of Roswell at 7 pm Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. A funeral mass for Jose will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery. Jose passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007. Jose was born on January 8, 1940 to Cruz Nevarez and Ramona Moreno Nevarez in La Noria Riva Palacios Chihuahua Mexico. He and Lusia Miramontes were married on April 29, 1960; Luisa survives Jose at the family home. Jose was a security guard for a paper company before moving to Roswell thirteen years ago. He loved to play Rummi Cube with his wife and daughter and travel to Mexico to visit and spend time with his family there. Jose loved his family and was very proud of all his children and their families. In addition to his wife, Luisa, Jose is survived by his children, Jose S. Nevarez and his wife, Yolanda, of Dexter, NM, Cruz Nevarez and his wife, Micaela of Chihuahua, Mexico, Francisco Nevarez and his wife, Corina, of Odessa, TX, Martha Aracely Saenz and her husband, Sergio, of Roswell, NM, Lorena Nevarez and her husband, Miguel, of Hobbs, NM, Jorge L. Nevarez and his wife, Leticia of Dexter, NM, Veronica Nevarez and her husband, Filiberto, of Hobbs, NM, Raul A. Nevarez of Roswell, and Jaime Nevarez and his wife, Adriana, of Roswell; grandchildren, Evan Antonio Nevarez, Sergio Nevarez, Perla Crystal Nevarez, Blanca Lizbeth Nevarez, Edna Yarely Nevarez, Cecilia Edith Nevarez, Jorge Alfredo Nevarez, Michele Corina Nevarez, Aaron Francisco Nevarez, Grissele Karime Nevarez, Carlos E. Saenz, Sergio E. Saenz, Edgar E. Saenz, Cindy Guadalupe Nevarez, Sarahi Gutierrez, Raul Gutierrez, Miguel Gutierrez, Reyes Garcia, Jorge Luis Nevarez, Jesus Jose Nevarez, Adrian F. Villegas, and Jaime Julian Nevarez; great-grandchildren, Brian Grajeola, Yoali Carboni, Alexa Hernandez, and Miguelangel Garcia; a brother, Sergio Antonio Nevarez; three sisters, Sophia Nevarez, Lydia Nevarez, and Ofelia Nevarez; and his family in Mexico. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Ramona Nevarez, two children, Martha Ceilia and Jorge Arturo Nevarez, and two brothers, Pedro and Saul Nevarez. Pallbearers will be his sons, Jose S., Cruz, Francisco, Jorge, Raul, and Jaime Nevarez, and his sons-in-law, Sergio Saenz, Miguel Gutierrez, and Filiberto Villegas. Honorary pallbearers will be Sergio Antonio Nevarez, Gilberto Moreno, and his family in Mexico who could not be present but will be present in spirit.
