Librada "Lillie" Sanchez

Librada (Lillie) Sanchez was called home on September 21, 2023 in Roswell, NM at the age of 85. Funeral Servies will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Friday, September 29, 2023. There will be a viewing from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm followed by services at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Aguilar officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Lille Sanchez was born on January 10, 1938 to Simon and Margarita Gutierrez in Corpus Christi Texas. She was the beloved wife of Sisto Sanchez who she married in August of 1955 in Lubbock, Texas. She came to know her Savior in her teen years and devoted her life to serving her Lord. She was a strong Christian woman and along with her husband traveled in the ministry for many years. They were both musically inclined. Sisto played the guitar as well as piano and together they sang in churches and revivals. Anybody who knew her knew she loved to sing to Jesus with zeal and joy. She was always praying for everybody, especially her children and grandchildren. Anytime you talked to her or Sisto, they would ask how your soul was doing or if you needed prayer. Lille worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years and later became a home health nurse. She retired to help take care of her grandchildren who she adored and eventually took care of her great-grandchildren as well. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish her memories are daughter, Cindy Gomez; brothers: Rene Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, TX, David Gutierrez of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren: Carlos Gomez (Ashley), Paul Gomez and Angel Deschene (David); great grandchildren: Kaleb, Jace and Anabelle Gomez, Chloe and Ethan Deschene, Aryelle, Carlos Jr. and Avyana Gomez. Lille was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sisto Sanchez; son, Bobby Sanchez; parents: Simon and Margarita Gutierrez; sisters: Nena, Keri, Elodia, ChaCha, and brothers: Robert, Rafael, Israel and Simon Jr. We would like to extend sincere thanks to Gentiva Hospice Care, her wonderful nurses Debbie, Melissa and her aides Linette and April. You ladies were a bright light in my week and my mom loved you all. I will sincerely miss seeing you. Thank you also to UNM Cancer Center and all the wonderful doctors that cared for my mom these past few years. Thank you, Linda Marquez, for coming at the perfect time. God’s timing is always perfect, and nothing is coincidence – only divine intervention.
