Linda Cole

Linda Faye Cole, 75, was born in Zion, Missouri on August 16, 1948, and passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, in Roswell, New Mexico. A Viewing will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for family and friends who wish to pay their last respects. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Danny Sons of Midway Assemblies of God officiating. A private interment for the family will follow at McBride Cemetery. The family will receive visitors starting at 12:00 pm at the home of Darrell and Patti Stacy, 1211 Karabella Way, in Roswell, New Mexico. Linda was the daughter of John and Matilda Lunsford, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by sister, Connie Purcell and brother Ron Lunsford. On November 6, 1965, Linda married Marvin Ernest Stacy. Their son, Darrell Lee Stacy was born in 1967. Marvin passed away in 1971 and Linda and Darrell moved to Roswell in 1972. On July 3, 1977, Linda married Zane Gray Cole. He was a wonderful Father to her son, Darrell Lee Stacy, and they had another son in 1979; Zane “Buddy” Gray Cole, II. Zane Gray Cole passed away July 1, 2019. Surviving Linda are her two sons: Darrell Stacy and wife Patti of Roswell, and Zane Cole II and wife Rebecka of Belfast, Maine; brother, Denver Lunsford of Fredericktown, Missouri; sister, Susie Coggins and husband K.C. of Roswell; grandchildren, Tomara Whitcamp and husband Taylor of Roswell; Tyler Stacy and Fiancé Dionte Jones of Roswell; Aaron Cole, Zane Gray Cole III, Jeremiah Cole, Jayce Cole, and Benjamin Milliken of Maine; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Oaklie, and Maverick Whitcamp (and soon another baby sister) of Roswell; along with numerous extended family members, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Linda worked for the Roswell Independent School District at the Goddard High School cafeteria for 23 years. She worked in the pastry department, and the kids always loved the peanut butter bars and dinner rolls she made as part of their daily lunches! She really enjoyed her work until she retired due to her health. She cherished and missed her coworkers very much. Linda loved gospel music and enjoyed singing – especially with her brothers and sisters. Linda and Zane really enjoyed sitting on the front porch and visiting with all their friends and neighbors at their home of over 35 years on East First Street in Roswell. Linda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother – always doting on everyone. She was a friend to everyone she met, and people enjoyed her sweet disposition. She was loved by all that came to know her. Linda was admitted to Mission Arch Care Center in 2014 and became a long-term resident in 2016. The Family extends a special thank you to the staff at Mission Arch for their many years of compassionate and loving care. Thank you also to Gentiva Hospice for the care they gave her in the final days. Honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Darrell Stacy, Zane “Buddy” Cole II, Aaron Cole, Tyler Stacy, Dionte Jones, K.C. Coggins, and Adam McClelland. Linda’s tribute was written in her honor by her loving family.
