Linda Fay Reese

Linda Fay Reese, 73, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, surrounded by her family. There will be a Viewing for Linda on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home from 12 pm to 3 pm. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, May 6, 2024, at 10 am at Church on the Move, located at 901 West Brasher Rd. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to come and eat and share in Linda’s memory at New Beginnings located at 3908 SE Main St, Roswell, New Mexico, across the street from the bowling alley. Linda was born on March 31, 1951, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Raymond and Clarabell Island. Linda attended Goddard High School and graduated in 1969. Linda will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to spend time with her family, playing games, dancing, and singing gospel music. Linda attended Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church when she was younger, she was a secretary, and a member of the choir. Linda later moved to Church on the Move, where she was a member. She took care of the walkers, and the two-year-olds. Linda always enjoyed taking care of the children. Kids brought so much love and joy to her heart. Linda worked at Levi’s Strauss and Company in Roswell, until they closed. She then went on to work at Maddy Tay’s Day Care Center until she retired from both places. Those left to carry on Linda’s legacy are her sister, Doris Cooper of Abilene, Texas; her daughters: Angela Reese Stewart and husband Jerry Stewart, and Merlesha Reese; son, Rodney Reese and his fiancée Vanessa Baeza; grandson, Jabari Reese Faust; granddaughters: Clarinda Pazos and her husband Jacob Pazos of Louisiana, Janae Faust of Albuquerque; Vaneah Faust and companion Alexys Montes, Angel Nova Reese, Jaylean Reese; great granddaughters: Bella Rose Lopez, Le’Anna Iris Segura; granddaughters: Deaveen, Destiny and Daijah Reese; grandson, Nathanial Quintero; numerous family members: aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss her. Preceding Linda in death is her husband, Horace Reese Sr; son, Horace Reese Jr; mother-in-law Rosie Reese; mom, Clarabell Island; dad, Raymond Island Sr; brother, Raymond Island Jr; and sister, Naomie Vercher. Honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Edward Faust, Edward Island, Marvin Reese, Alexys Montes, Jacob Pazos, Jordan Island, Nathaniel Quintero, and Jabari Reese Faust. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodney Reese, and James Webb Jr. A special thanks to pastor Tim Aguilar, pastor Troy and Mrs. Julie Smothemon, KOTM, COTM (Church on the Movie), and to One Eighty, New Beginnings, Albertsons on Main St, and Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
