A loving mother and grandmother, LUZELENA NUNEZ, 60, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, in Roswell, New Mexico. No services will be held. SERVICES: There will be a Viewing for Luzelena at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Monday, February 1, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On May 25, 1960, Luzelena was born to Augustine and Maria Alberta Mariscal in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico. She graduated from Roswell High School. Prior to retirement, Luzelena worked for many years at K-Mart. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and volunteered at St. Peters Religious Education Center for twenty-five years. She liked organizing activities for her students, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her kids, especially spoiling her grandchildren, she loved them dearly. Luzelena enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching her shows, but mostly spending time with her friends. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends. SURVIVORS: Left to treasure memories of Luzelena are her children: Maria Villalobos and partner Irene Hernandez, Michael Villalobos, Martin Villalobos, and Luzelena Nunez and partner Bryan Chavez; grandchildren: Immanuel Anthony Villalobos and Yurani Elisay Chavez; father, Augustine Mariscal; sister, Nancy Connell; aunts: Rosa Maria Bosque and Carmen Aguirre; nieces and nephews: Antoniett Gibson, Alex Gibson, Vannette Chaves, Joshua Mariscal, Nancy Ann Connell, Nikki Raye Vargas; cousins: Gregoria Schweder, Raul Aguirre, Eliseo Aguirre, Carmen Aguirre, Lydia Aguirre, and Maria Watt Aguirre; all her Godchildren; as well as her close friends: Brenda Saenz, Sally Etter, Sally Juarez, Margie Campos, Margarita Rodriguez, Lluvia and Mckenzih Chavez. PRECEDED: Luzelena is Preceded in death by her mother, Maria Alberta Mariscal, grandparents: Benito O. Aguirre and Gregoria Aguirre; great-grandparents: Ladislao Aguirre and Severa Aguirre; siblings: Maria A. Gibson and Arturo Mariscal; uncle, Ladislao V. Aguirre; as well as her cousin, Ramon E. Aguirre. HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Those blessed to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Villalobos, Martin Villalobos, Omar Gonzalez, Raul Aguirre, and Eliseo Aguirre.
