Mallerie Akin

Mallerie Akin, 25, of Roswell, NM went to spend eternal life with her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2011 in Brighton Colorado with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 17, 1986 in Denver Colorado. She attended University High School in Roswell, NM and was attending Front Range Community College in Broomfield Colorado; she was planning on getting her nursing degree. Mallerie was planning on moving back to Roswell this fall and marring her fiancé Daniel Hoogerhuis. Mallerie will be remembered for her many gifts, which were many. Her smile brightened up a room, her laughter contagious. She was patient, kind, and lighthearted, but above all, she loved her Lord and Savior with all her soul. She was a family member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Mallerie leaves behind a legacy of love and family and is survived by her loving parents, Crystal Ann Akin and JD Akin of Roswell; beloved son Andrew Akin; brother, Jacob Akin; and fiancé Daniel Hoogerhuis all of Roswell; brothers, Benjamin Sands, Joshua Akin, grandmother, Maryann Sands , Aunt Carollee Sands-Franks & Savannah Isabella Sands-Franks; nieces, Jade & Lexy Sands all of Brighton Colorado; grandparents, Karen and Jerry Akin of Fort Collins Colorado; great grandparents, Barbara and Ray Hall of Boerne TX, great grandmother, Ruth Sands of Hobbs NM; uncle Leroy Romero and family of Cheyenne Wyoming as well as numerous other family members, friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Larry Hall and uncle Bob Franks of Brighton Colorado and great grandfather Bob Sands of Hobbs NM. Memorial services will be held at Mt. View Baptist Church 206 Charleston Rd. in Roswell, NM on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 6 pm. Leroy Romero and Terry R. Johnson II will conduct the services.
