Manuel B. "Jiggs" Lucero

Manuel B “Jiggs” Lucero, 63, of Roswell, NM passed away February 15, 2016. He was born July 28, 1952, to Teodorita Baca and Antonio Lucero (both deceased) in Roswell NM. He was married to Carol Lara Lucero. Manuel was a very big hearted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a very dedicated man. His occupation was an auto body man and a painter. He did that job for 30 plus years and loved it. Manuel loved to go hunting, fishing, watching television, cleaning his guns, and spending time with family and friends. His right hand men were Henry Garcia, Frankie Meads Sr, Raymond Lucero and Roy Vargas. He loved his fresh tortillas, beans, chile and salt. Jiggs had a sense of humor like no other and such an uplifting attitude. No matter the time, or place he made everything right and made you laugh and smile. Preceding Manuel in death are his parents, Teodorita Baca and Antonio Lucero; brother, Larry Lucero, sisters: Bebe Quintero and Terry Lucero. He left behind his wife, Carol Lara Lucero whom he was married to for 38 years; son, Jose Angel Guilez Sr; grandchildren: Anjell Guilez, Angel Guilez Jr, Donovan Guilez, and Emerald Guilez; daughter, Anita Guilez; grandchildren, Donna and Roy Andazola, Samantha Fuentes, Johnathon Salcido, Megan Salcido, and Matthew Salcido; daughter, April Guilez and husband, Benjamin Lopez; grandchildren, Merissa Guilez, Christopher Lopez and Daniel Guilez; daughter, Shannon Lucero Salcido and husband, Gilbert Salcido; grandchildren: Nya Lucero, Emmanuel Salcido, and Isabelle Salcido (baby cub); ten great-grandchildren and three on the way. Also surviving Manuel are siblings: Ricky Lucero, Raymond Lucero, Mary Silva, Lupe Bencomo, Lucy Nunez, Nellie Lucero and Lizzie Lucero. The family would like to thank everyone for their sympathy, blessings, calls and visits. A memorial service for Manuel B “Jiggs” Lucero is scheduled Friday, February 19, 2016, 6:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. Adolfo Castillo will officiate. Hope to see you there.
