Melanie Renee Samario

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Melanie Samario, who departed this world on May 31, 2026, at the age of 45, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Born on August 8, 1980, in Roswell, New Mexico. A viewing will be on Monday, June 15th, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A Rosary and Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church. The Graveside service will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM at South Park Cemetery. Melanie was the daughter of Lisa Marie Thyberg and the late Jesus Frankie (Johnny) Samario. She was preceded in death by her father Jesus Frankie (Johnny) Samario, her grandmother Beatrice Orona, her grandfather Frank Samario Sr, her brothers Andy and Frankie Samario III, her son Anthony Ray Duran, her uncles Moises Orona and Richard Brady, and her aunt Rita Miranda. She is survived by her children, Mariah (Jesse) Montez and Alexis Gail, eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild, who will undoubtedly feel her love from above. Her surviving family includes her brothers Michael Samario, Gabriel Samario, Gilbert (Terry) Contereas, Isaac Sanchez, Jacob Gonzales, and her sister Jessie Samario. Sonia (Alfonso) Valverde, Douglas Thyberg, Diana Thyberg, Matthew Thyberg, Tina Thyberg, Elijah Thyberg, Richard Thyberg, Gabriel Thyberg, Doug Thyberg, Matthew Thyberg ll, Timothy Thyberg, Alyssa Samario, Aubrey Gonzales, Jasmine Ponce, Priscilla Samario, Emily Brady, Jane Orona (Rudy Guevara), Adrian Orona, Moises (Erica) Orona, Lorenzo Cobos, Ruby Fuentes, Michelle Gonzales, Cindy Gonzales, Veto (Jennifer) Gonzales. Melanie's family extended beyond blood, encompassing many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cherished her deeply. Everyone knew Melanie as “Bo,” short for Bo Derek. She was a cool person, always making jokes and laughing. She enjoyed playing her casino games on her phone, she loved listening to oldies and music in general. She loved going to the stores, anyone who went with her knew she would look down every aisle. She loved her 3 dogs and was always munching on ice and always wanted to go get a coke from Allsup’s. What made Melanie so special wasn’t just the things she loved—it was the way she loved people. She was caring, compassionate, and always willing to help anyone in need. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. The world is a little quieter without Melanie in it, but her love, laughter, and beautiful memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and love that can never be replaced. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply she touched our lives. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during this difficult time. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has come together to support our family during this difficult time. Your generosity, kindness, prayers, donations, and words of comfort have meant more to us than we can express. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
